As a daughter who grew up on football, I promise thats a trip she will remember for the rest of her life.
And as the resident football teacher among my college girlfriends, thank you for getting her started at a young age.
He definitely does. I watched it on loop last night laughing my ass off.
A good friend of mine brought his oldest (same age as your daughter), and another good friend brought his newborn to the tailgate (but she stayed with the wife & sister-in-law during the game).
I guess I'm getting old, but these last few years have been more about the people I see every weekend than about the football.
Good stuff, BeerControl.
capoeira.
i think i rewound and watched this play at least 10 times and i thought the same thing.
At around the 1:50 mark there is a kid dancing around in front of Beamer.....is it just me or did the cop horsecollar him to the ground by his bookbag?
I guess having kids isn't that bad after all.
Did she get a toss in on the cornhole board? If so, I'm assuming she dominated.
Sounds like a blast, and something I look forward to with my future children.... future children.
Only problem I see here is the ridiculous face I am making in the background of your picture. Dammit.
Agree. Anyone who doesn't follow Hokie football has no idea exactly what he did last night.
Too. Freaking. Adorable. Now there's a little girl who won't have to worry about being bored at games and/or having to have them explained to her while she's in college.
Also, mad props on the autographs. That's what my #5 needs...
Does anyone know the list of recruits that was at the game saturday? I know Manning, Mckinnon and Greene but that is all I know. I know we had a really impressive list at the game last week at looked like shit, this week we might have put our self in good position with the recruits in attendance. That was one of the best games I can remember at Lane. Nebraska 2009 was a great finish but this was truly a great game to watch. The defense could have played a lil better but to be without 3 starters I think our boys played great... LETS GO......HOKIES...how about the timing of enter sandman with 5 seconds to go...awesome..
That LT went 23/25 including running for the game winning score.... Because just by looking at the stats, it seems like he was outdone.
Oklahoma's D, Denard Robinson, and Geno Smith all padded their stats after their games were well in hand, while LT3 was busy willing his team to victory. Also, Denard threw more interceptions than LT3 threw incompletions.
Hehe, thanks ^_^

We ran the stretch play with Josh O on 3rd and 1 against Clemson too. It's mind numbing. It seems like when Oglesby comes in for Wilson, it's for an entire series, and it doesn't influence the play calls. I believe Josh O's one reception yesterday was on a swing pass, same thing. Those plays aren't best suited for Oglesby's skill set. He's a terrific runner between the tackles, behind a fullback or big line. In those goal line or closing out a game situations he's always going to move forward and get positive yards. Unfortunately, this team isn't built to execute like that the majority of the time, which sucks for him because he's put in the work and deserves to see the field more.
but i swear at 30 seconds into the last play video Al looks up at Lane with sheer terror.
Totally agree on the "WTF how did that just work" play calling on the last drive. Thank god it did.
I'm back at exactly 50%... that means I get a good week next week, right?
Haters gonna hate (and they did all last week...), but LT3 rocks. Yes, he's young, yes, he's inexperienced, but the coaching staff said all spring that he was amazing. We just had to have the right play calling to prove it. I don't know why all of a sudden O'Cain decided to actually call the game to LT's strengths, but I am damn glad he did. That was a gorgeous game on LT's part, two perfect 2 minute drills (though I felt that TO in the last one, after DW got us down within the 20, was a little silly, but that was on Beamer not LT). I really really hope we don't revert to form though :( We've been so spoiled with Tyrod, we need to let the past be past and let LT create his own legacy. He can do it!
I'm going to watch a DVR of the game after the professionals are done playing today. I've let some time pass and the emotions die down a little bit, but here's what stands out to me a day later:
-I trolled him all week, but Jacory Harris played (maybe) his best game at Miami. Ever. Some of his touchdowns were aided by bad angles in the secondary (see: Travis Benjamin's long TD), but Jacory really didn't DERP like the Jacory we know and love until the final drive (you only have 45 seconds, YOU CANNOT HAVE AN 11 SECOND PLAY). Color me impressed.
-Joe brought this up yesterday, and expounded on this in later posts - but it is clearly evident that the play calling was scaled back last week against Clemson because of concern for Logan's shoulder. This IS the offense we all imagined in the offseason, spreading everyone out, and letting Logan and DMFW pick their holes for bug gains. There were only 2-3 "What the hell was that?" reaction plays (OglesBEAST on a stretch. REALLY?). But the play calling was great.
-The numbers speak for themselves (23/25), but Logan's decision-making was on another level yesterday. He get a lot of people involved (7 different guys caught passes). He didn't take many chances with the football, and checked down when the defense allowed it. It was FUN watching him for the first time this year.
-The defense came out with swag, but GOOD GOD it wore down by the fourth quarter and allowed Miami to make it a closer game than any of us really expected at halftime. If Gayle is lost for any extended period of time, we are going to be in trouble, especially when we have to go to Atlanta to play Georgia Tech. It wasn't so much that the line played poorly in the second half (on the final drive, they got great pressure on Jacory while only rushing 3), they just got tired. But that is to be expected from guys that aren't used to playing so many snaps. It's good that guys like Hamlette, Maddy, and Marshall got playing time.
-Excited for Wake Week? YES SIR, I AM.
Man I was watching it on tv and it seemed like it was loud. I had the opportunity to go to a USC game for the rose bowl a few years ago it was loud, but I could definitely tell especially on that 4th down play for Miami, the crowd really became alive. I hope DW reads his blocks better and develops Ryan Williams cut back vision he would definitely be a dangerous back. Although, I understand that alot of pressure will be on DW to leave after this season and go to the NFL, but I really think he can benefit from starting another year here at Tech.
North End Zone showed up. and I didn't even need to run up and down the isles making people get loud. But that didn't stop me from doing it anyway.

thanks for the drop...

Unlike Clemson, Miami never pressured him from the front. He definitely seems to not like any pressure that affects his release. If in doubt watch where the pressure comes from right before LT starts making bad throws/decisions during the Clemson, Marshall, and ECU games and compare to App St and Miami. Against Miami, the only pressure he felt (and this was not often) was from the sides. Great job by the o-line.
