It feels a lot like the James Franklin firing from PSU.
Deserves its own post
Owen Wafle to Duke
RB Jabree Coleman and WR Tyseer Denmark are in the portal
I'll probably make a new PSU table later today
But how many programs have the resources, infrastructure, and coaching expertise to do all three of those things?
Not many, teams that do that well consistently are called blue bloods.
TSL and 247 are reporting Jaquez White as commiting to the Hokies as well. CB from Troy.
247 VT portal is listing Noah Jenkins, but I haven't seen any announcement
247 officially listed him as a TE
We may disagree on Wondrous, but I also don't like the "come to Blacksburg" gif
Please don't discontinue! I laugh every time without fail. One of my all time favorite gifs.
That's a very fair question that I don't think has an answer yet. The other factor in that equation is culture (I'm interpreting "coaching expertise" as technical development coaching skill). Is you culture good enough that kids both buy in to the process and stay even if they're not receiving top dollar?
Notre Dame LB Bodie Kahoun from Roanoke in the portal. Was the 9th ranked player in VA in the 2024 composite.
I'm not sure they are. Word is Deboer really likes Keelon Russell.
Yeah agreed, let Belichick stay at UNC please; don't bail them out of their disastrous hire.
Matt Campbell however - yes please hire him away so Penn State is searching for a coach again (seems very unlikely he would leave for one of the worst job in the NFL)
As a ravens fan i'm very torn on how to feel. Definitely surprised since he was a 44 yard field goal (should be made) from winning a 3rd straight division title (in a good division too). But it also didn't feel like he was going to get this team over the hump. It's strange man
Are we sure we dont want unc to continue to smolder? I have zero confidence of Ol Bill turning around a college program (or really any program at this juncture)

Is that the solution, though? I'm not sure if you need the antitrust exemption to have some sort of collective bargaining. Only MLB has one.
AI Overview: Only Major League Baseball (MLB) has a broad antitrust exemption in the U.S., stemming from a 1922 Supreme Court ruling that baseball wasn't interstate commerce, though Congress later limited it regarding player contracts with the 1998 Curt Flood Act. Other major leagues, like the NFL, NBA, and NHL, lack a general exemption but often defend coordinated activities under a "rule of reason" as necessary for competitive balance, not subject to strict antitrust laws.
I've not been in favor of an antitrust exemption for CFB, because I can see the NCAA taking advantage of that in ways that rises the boats of the schools at the expense of the players. There does have to be some collective bargaining, though, and you're right that it will come with some longer-term costs that will need to be borne.
If football players become employees then Title IX will no longer apply...
Is that true? I haven't seen that anywhere. Granted, I think that as the major revenue foundation that all other sports' scholarships derive from, there should be some relief from Title IX for football, but I haven't given a lot of thought to how much, because I wasn't sure how they would get out from under Title IX.
He went from 4 to 3:30 with a manual adjustment. That was wondrous/s
I'm fine being in the minority. Go on with the class teacher......
And since I am clearly having my 'get off my lawn' moment, I don't really like the "come to Blacksburg' gif either.
This is who I hope the Browns go after. Just the revenge chip on his shoulder in division would be amazing.
Not what I came here to see!
Low key this whole entire arc is one of my favorite things in the show
I hope Arthur is smart enough to steer far far away from the Bill and Jordon show, but at this point I won't be surprised by anything the Falcons do.
As my wife often reminds me, "you choose to love this team that makes you miserable"
The more interesting part of that (I don't have the link in front of me) is the reporter also noted at the time, there were only 6 job openings.

When MV was QB, we coulda had a "Vick'em, Stick'em, Kick'em" cheer.
