Georgia Tech has a long way to go to get to some of their older football scores...haha
An update to the 2nd part of your post, the board passed it by a unanimous vote
What at Clemson has been successful in the last 5ish years? Texas Tech made huge leaps forward in just about every sport but Clemson looks meh in both basketball and football from their pre NIL days.
Tight game in the 8th. GT clinging to a 7-6 lead. Patel just excited the game after 100 pitches.
Short form report:
Fished last Tuesday-Thursday at Buckroe. There were a ton of spanish around (I just ordered 30 fresh sibiki rigs to prove it.) Two of us got around 30 keepers over 3 days, with my friend Jiro getting a 22 3/4 incher that took over the leader board at the pier.
As for cobia, I only got two medium sized (2-3 pounders) on threadfins on Tuesday. After only catching two spot (that both got bluefished almost immediately) and no threadfins in the first three hours of fishing on Wednesday, I drove up to Wallace's Bait and Tackle and picked up some eels. First cast produced my first cobia of the day at 37 inches. I got one more very small one on Thursday. I saw around 30 fish caught over the three days, with the biggest being only 44 inches.
I will never get over seeing these baseball games with football scores
GT and OU are getting deep into the game. GT finally took the lead in the 5th and now up 7-3 in the 6th.
Couldn't be happier to have Ty back in Blacksburg. He did an awesome job at Brown, with their 197 making the blood round this year. Adding another guy that's won at a high level and seen some international success is just what Virginia Tech needed. Now let's see what he can do with some resources behind him.

Comeback bid falls short, strike 3 looking (smh)... FSU eliminated from their own regional, SJU moving on.
That seems silly to me. You can donate money to a for-profit, it's just not tax deductible. That's what is happening to all these NIL collectives now with the IRS determining that they are not valid 501c3's. People can donate but it's not tax deductible, and collectives will likely need to start filing tax returns. I guess having a very strong tax attorney on the board guiding this would have been beneficial, but oh well.
2-run blast by FSU making it interesting. 5-4 with one out.

The Wild Turkey is gonna be a lot crazier looking.
Imagine you have your traditional 5 OL, with 250 lb Luke Reynolds, 251 lb Ja'Ricous Hairston, 242 lb Body Jones, 243 lb Matt Henderson lined up at a 5 TE front, with 230 lb Bill Davis taking the direct snap.
FSU goes down in order in the top of the 8th. Running out of chances...

FSU gets 2 runners in scoring position and can't get either one across to score. 5-2 going into B7.
SJU adds another one... 5-2 going into the 7th.

I liked a lot of this but if I'm honest the line about "passion passed from fathers to sons" irritated me. I realize I'm being overly sensitive, but daughters/moms should get some acknowledgement too. I started going to games with my Dad when I was 4 and you could still show up on game day and park in the Cage. My kids are going to grow up going to games too. I married a Hokie but he doesnt have the same life long connection so we wouldn't be season ticket holders if I wasn't pushing it.
Had something to do with how VA handles donations showing up on the balance sheets. Not my area of expertise but that's how I understand it.
and there goes the FSU lead - grand slam for SJU makes it 4-2 B5
I appreciate the context.
I'm satisfied with his dismissal

I put Football on Dabo being unwilling to effectively use the portal. He finally used it this offseason to bring in 10 players. Prior to that he had only brought in 6 players from 2018-2025. Put way too much of the NIL budget into HS players or retaining lesser players.
That said Clemson has ranked top three in Football NIL in the ACC for the last four years. Miami basically doubles or triples everyone. Clemson is usually second with around $18-$20M so between NIL and revenue share its a $33-$35M Football payment to players.
Basketball though Brownell the last 4 years went from winning 17 or 18 games to 23 to 27 games. Conference play prior to 21-22 they were +/- 1 game of .500. Last four seasons 14, 11, 18, 12 wins. Brownell has made some really solid moves signing talent, especially pulling starters from lesser ACC squads.
Basketball gets $4.5M-$6M in NIL so they trail Duke, UNC, and Miami typically.
