Not sure if I agree here. Yes, firing Pry was the right thing to do, but it was the firing of JMMF JMFF that made this the big home run. If JMMF JMFF doesn't get fired, who are we going to end up with? I don't think we'd know at this point. We're going to be waiting for Florida/LSU/Auburn to fill up, and we're DEFINITELY not getting somebody with two weeks before the season is over.
"I said you're Meeshigan, how hard a jahb could it be?"
38 is too high IMO bc likely very few of them will play and you're better served getting a bigger class (maybe ~25) and then augmenting with the transfer portal. I know without scholarship limits, this dynamic changes slightly, but I think the principle stays the same.
So yes, I'd expect Franklin to bring in a ton of new players to overhaul this roster (including a good sized high school class). But I would hope for a good chunk of transfer portal additions who can likely contribute immediately.
Can Kelly fake an upper Michigan accent? ;^)
"Oh yaaah, ya kno, I killed a kid just that once, fer sure."
We're not taking Penn State's coaches and staff right before they play in the CFB playoffs, though.
Before their bowl, sure, but not before the playoffs. ;^)
(Had to check their record, they are 6-6, so I'm assuming there's a bowl for Penn State this year.)
What makes you think that we're not going to take 38 high schoolers in this class?
We absolutely should, too. JMMF JMFF had better be overrecruiting current players.
Yeah, the several years there building them to a good program was good for his image. End result of moving from Ole Miss to LSU for a minor raise, meh. The dick move was the ultimatum to his coaches.
Without knowing the specifics of their roster, I think if you need to take 38 high schoolers in a single recruiting class, it's probably an indicator that your roster is mismanaged and program likely poorly run. Same energy as Fuente signing 6 RBs.
So it kind of makes perfect sense for UNC currently.
Defensive Coordinator option? Would be another guy with recruiting footprint that lines up for us.
My first thought as well. Hopefully the good news comes at 1 and Huhn is coming to Blacksburg.
I'm not sure if our guys have some nagging injuries that are bothering them right now, which would be not good this early into the season, but multiple of them seem to be really slow to help on D or even cover their man at all. Not aggressively attacking the boards and allowing players to get wide open to the basket on lazy screens and cuts drives me insane.
I would like to believe this has to do with Huhn (maybe) committing today. Bergeron was on campus, probably had a conversation with Franklin.
He was flirting with Minnesota. Not sure how the changing landscape effects that.
Would also assume that Huhn is a Hokie at 1 PM
Shocking that 38 people want to play a that shit hole.
Ole Miss had said they would match. I am honestly disappointed in Lane. I thought maybe he had finally grown up. Silly me.
Not that I think JMMF will have much tolerance for players making business decisions,,,
I think we can safely say that JMMF JMFF will have hand in these negotiations.
The players:
I also never thought it could get worse than Stiney, but I still don't want to go back to him, haha. I'd like to think whoever Franklin brings in will do better.
For anyone who is keeping count, we are now #7 in the ACC if you look at the "average composite" (the total is a BS number that means very little). And it won't take much to get us a top 4 finish in the ACC , just behind the Clemson, Miami, FSU.
Again, this is based on the QUALITY of the recruits, not so much the total number of recruits.
Anyways, here's hoping that the next OC and QB can have success not previously seen in Blacksburg
since TT.
FTFY.
New individual thread and not a comment in that recruits commitment thread?
I think at this point, I would take anything Stiney would have to offer. lol.
We are so effing bad at offense. I never thought it could be worse than Stiney (which had a lot to do with Newsome if we are honest about it), but here we are!
Again, this is based on the total number 247 gives. Since UNC has 38 commits, that certainly helps significantly in making that number hyper inflated.
Do we miss Stiney? Or do we miss the talent he had to work with?
Reminder that decommits get a new individual thread and ya gotta bring sources like a link or a tweet embed

I started reading this in Jar Jar Binks's voice and now I can't shake the thought of BK butchering his new accent so bad he sounds like Jar Jar.
