A note to Andy Bitter

Andy,

I read your blog this afternoon, and I was touched by the story about your grandfather. I know our TKP family have enjoyed your writing, and while we knew you were away on personal business, you were missed, we just didn't know why you were away.

I saw your grandfather was an Iowan. I married an Iowa girl (Des Moines), and I have always found Iowans a hearty folk, hard working, down to earth (salt of it, really), and just great fun to be around in general. They inhabit a lovely part of the country, and apart from occasionally having to chisel the dog off of the tree in winter, it is a beautiful place. And for all of the wonderful qualities they posses, they quite often pass them on to their children and grandchildren. I'm sure that everyone here wishes the best for you and your family. Just wanted to say thanks for your writing, and to let you know that we enjoy you being part of HokieNation.
