Well shit, college football. Why you make me so sad? It's ok, let me soothe your sadness with GIFs again!
In case you didn't see this yet, you should:
Rob Ford looked good in that NFL tie, right? He must have hidden some sort of cocaine contraption in it when he got it in 1995.
.
Week 9 is dunzo!
Week 1's recap is here.
Your standings:
.
No Andy Reid or Ohio State band gifs this week. Sorry!
#OperationImpatience 136.53, Money Badger 117.60
Another big performance for Pierson and #OperationImpatience as he moves into sixth place in the league. Tom Brady (39), Zac Stacy (30) and Kansas City's D (22) all put up great games for #OperationImpatience. Money Badger had the fourth most points in the entire league this week, and almost doubled up on their Yahoo! projection of 67.86. Joe Flacco (27.5), Gio Bernard (22.5), Jimmy Graham (25.5) and Danny Amendola (19) had great games for Money Badger, but they were undone by poor performances by Roy Helu (3), Jacquizz Rodgers (2.5) and Phil Dawson (bye week).
#OperationImpatience now sits in sixth place, holding the points scored tiebreak over the other three 4-5 teams while Money Badger sits in last place, trailing the other two 3-6 teams in points scored. #OperationImpatience is now a game out of a playoff spot (although they would need to make up a little ground to overtake JONESing for Austin in a tiebreak). Money Badger is two games out of a playoff spot.
fry-fry chicky-chick 132.44, Imagine Wagons 120.83
Our three 3-6 teams were the 2nd, 3rd and 4th in points this week. Awesome! Danibails had good games out of Andrew Luck (29.5), Stevan Ridley (22.5), DeSean Jackson (24), Pierre Garcon (17) and LeSean McCoy (14) and outscored their Yahoo! projection by 34 points. The Imagine Wagons suffered a tough loss, especially since they were within striking distance going into the MNF matchup only to see Aaron Rodgers go down with a shoulder injury; Andre Johnson had a monster game (45) and Matt Forte had a good one as well (24), but it's hard to recover from 2 points from your QB.
fry-fry chicky-chick is now in 10th place and two games out of a playoff spot while Imagine Wagons are in 11th place and also two games out of a playoff spot.
JONESing for Austin 103.59, Treadmill Horses 87.51
This was somewhat of an upset, as the Treadmill Horses were projected to win by 26 points, but those projections are bullshit anyways. JONESing for Austin had good performances from Adrian Peterson (24.5), RGIII (18) and Le'Veon Bell (14) while the Treadmill Horses had 26 from Cam Newton and 22 from Eddie Lacy and not a whole lot of help elsewhere, as Dez Bryant, Jordy Nelson, Jamaal Charles, Jordan Cameron and even Seattle's D underperformed.
JONESing for Austin holds on to fourth place (and the final playoff spot), leading fifth place Centaurrian Gray (me!!) by 55 points in the standings. Treadmill Horses didn't take up the opportunity to overtake first place, as ANUSTART lost as well, but still hold on to second place and have 55 more points than anyone else in the league.
Denver's Nuggets 97.46, Hernandez's Legal D 81.88
Beau had a nice week, keeping himself within a game of the last playoff spot while also knocking off a tough team in Hernandez's Legal D. Marshawn Lynch (14), Chris Johnson (29) and Jason Witten (16) had nice weeks to put Denver's Nuggets on top. Hernandez's Legal D had good games from Tony Romo (30) and Brandon Marshall (16.5), but suffered through injuries to all three of their starting RB's - Darren McFadden, Arian Foster and Darren Sproles combined to score 1.7 points.
Denver's Nuggets are third out of the four 4-5 teams but are still just a game out of the final playoff spot. Heranndez's Legal D sits in third place at 6-3; they will likely hold tiebreaks over all other teams besides Treadmill Horses, so they're still in fine shape.
Centaurrian Gray 94.39, OrangeBarrelReroute 94.02
Needless to say, I was a little surprised at how close this game ended up being.
@scobeard Last week I lost to a team who grabbed Marvin Jones and Tate so I appreciate it haha. I'll enjoy the W & shaming you in the recap.— Sean Hogan (@seanhoganVT) November 1, 2013
Scobeard ended up fielding an almost-complete team, with just SF's D on bye; little did he know that the defense would have been the difference between a win and a loss. Ryan Tannehill (19.5), Alfred Morris (18), Rob Gronkowski (20.5) and Nick Folk (16) all performed well while Philip Rivers (28), Keenan Allen (19) and AJ Green (13) had nice games for me.
I am now in fifth place, but 55 points behind Cody for the tiebreak (and significantly behind teams 1-3 as well). Scobeard is in 7th place, but one game out of the playoffs (and just 28 points behind Cody as of now if there would be a tiebreak). THINGS ARE GONNA GET EXCITING DOWN THE STRETCH.
EverydayI'mRussellin 85.73, ANUSTART 70.78
ANUSTART had five players on bye this week (Welker, Bush, Vernon Davis, Mendenhall and Pettigrew) and had to start Marques Colston, who was out; it is no surprise that she lost this week, as just Drew Brees (28.5) and Rod Streater (10.5) scored double digit points. EverydayI'mRussellin only had two double digit scorers as well in Russell Wilson (29) and Carolina's D (19), but clawed their way to victory anyways.
EverydayI'mRussellin has the fewest points out of the 4-5 teams, so they stand a game out of a playoff spot and would likely not win any tiebreaks, so they have very little room for error down the stretch. ANUSTART is still in first place, and at two games ahead of the 5th place team (and three ahead of the 6-9th place teams) have some wiggle room.
Now, onto your NFL GIFCaps!
Dolphins 22, Bengals 20
The Bengals outgained the Dolphins by 120 yards, ran 32 more plays and out-possessed them by 12 minutes, but still lost miserably on a safety in overtime (that was probably not really a safety, sorry Ben). Young ACC backs Gio Bernard (79 rushing yards, 25 receiving yards and 2 TD) and Lamar Miller (105 rushing yards and 24 receiving yards) each had solid weeks, and AJ Green had a nice week (11 catches for 128). The loss came down to Andy Dalton, who threw 3 picks and lost a fumble, just one week after throwing for five TD's.
Holy Giovani Bernard
.
This was a bad pass by Andy Dalton
.
Nolan Carroll...ouch.
.
I'm not going to beat the Richie Incognito/Jonathan Martin thing, but Incognito has on occasion before. on the situation if you've been living under a rock. And Dolphins message boards, which makes this dumpter fire semi-hilarious.
The Dolphins are now 4-4 and are 2.5 games out of the AFC East lead but just a half game behind the Jets for the final AFC Wild Card spot. Cincy only lost ground to one of their 3 AFC North-mates, as Baltimore and Pittsburgh lost, and are 2 games ahead of Cleveland for the AFC North lead.
Redskins 30, Chargers 24
Oh. My. God. How the hell did the Skins not lose this game? An overturned Danny Woodhead TD gave the Chargers the ball inside the Skins' one yard line on first and goal, but they ran three dumb playcalls (a shotgun run and two passes) and settled for a game-tying field goal and overtime. The Skins marched down the field with ease and Darrel Young scored his third TD of the game (words I never expected to type) to give the Skins a victory.
The Skins are now 1.5 games behind the Cowgirls for first in the NFC East and two behind Carolina for the last wild card spot in the NFC. San Diego is now 5 games behind Kansas City in the AFC West race and a half game behind NYJ for the final AFC wild card.
PLEASE RGIII NEVER DO THIS AGAIN
.
Brandon Meriweather is a man of his word...he went for the knees.
.
There were lots of tips and blocked stuff by the Chargers.

Chiefs 23, Bills 13
Remember when the Bills were up 10-3 at halftime and the Chiefs were gonna not be undefeated anymore? Yeah, then Jeff Tuel threw a red zone INT that ended up becoming a 100 yard Sean Smith pick six and later Tamba Hali added an 11 yard fumble return TD. Who needs offense? Apparently not the Chiefs.
The Chiefs are still undefeated and are a game and a half ahead of the Broncos for first in the AFC West. Buffalo falls to 3-6 and is four games behind NE in the AFC East and two behind NYJ for the last AFC wild card.
Sean Smith 100 Yard Pick 6 Dot Gif
.
CJ Spiller 61 yard run! He's alive?!?
.
I don't know who Marquise Goodwin is because he is so fast he ran off of my TV.
.
Chiefs D gonna Chief.
.
Cowboys 27, Vikings 23
I was not in a good place when the Cowgirls were driving late, as the Skins would obviously give up a last second TD to lose to the Chargers and the season would be over. Thankfully for my sanity, that didn't happen, but Dallass still won thanks to a Dwayne Harris TD catch with 35 seconds left in the game. Christian Ponder actually had a decent game, completing 68% of his passes for 236 yards, a TD and a pick; he also ran for 29 yards and a TD (albeit with 2 fumbles, 1 of them lost). Dallass only ran the ball 9 times for 36 yards, but it was no problem at the end, as Romo completed 2/3 of his passes for 337 yards, 2 TD and a pick.
Dallass is a game ahead of the Iggles for first in the NFC East while the Vikings are now 1-7 and sit in third place in the current 2014 draft rankings.
ADRIAN. PETERSON. I'll just leave this here
.
and here
.
Good Dez: encouraging his teammates
.
Bad Dez: getting 30 yards of penalties on one play
.
Well, at least he gets to come home to Sam Steele Ponder
.
Hell of a dance
.
Tony Romo, failed cheater
.
Titans 28, Rams 21
Jake Locker finally had a bad game, completing 59% of his passes for 185 and 2 picks, but it didn't matter, as the Titans came out on top thanks to 198 rushing yards and 4 rushing TD's. Shonn Greene got the first TD, certainly worrying some CJ2K owners that he would vulture TD's down the stretch of the season, but he ended up with 150 rushing yards and 2 TD's. Zac Stacy had himself a game as well, running 27 times for 127 yards and 2 TD's and catching 6 balls for 51 yards as well.
With the loss, the Rams fall to 12th in the NFC, 2 and a half games out of the final wild card spot and five out of the NFC West lead. Tennessee is still 2 games out of the AFC North lead but just a half game out of the last AFC wild card spot.
Zac Stacy is scoring TD's, which is cool.
.
Maybe Jared Cook should be hungry more often...because he sucks when he's not hungry apparently.
.
Chris Johnson is alive! and dancing!
.
Jets 26, Saints 20
Raise your hand if you expected the Jets to beat the Saints by 6 a week after losing by 39 to the Bengals? No hands? That's right. Chris Ivory (18 carries for 139 yards) and Nick Folk (4/4 FG) led the way for the Jets, who also handled Drew Brees fairly well (59% completions for 382 yards, 2 touchdowns and 2 picks). Jimmy Graham had 9 catches for 116 yards and 2 TD's and I love Jimmy Graham.
The Saints remain in second place in the NFC, but are now just a game ahead of Carolina for the NFC South lead. The Jets move up to the second AFC wild card spot, half of a game ahead of the likes of Tennessee, Miami and San Diego; they are two games behind New England in the AFC East.
DAYUMMMM GENO HOW YOU GONNA TREAT A FULL-BODIED MAN LIKE THAT?
.
Tip drill!
.
This is like the David Tyree Super Bowl catch, except the Saints lost. And they lost to the Jets.
.
Panthers 34, Falcons 10
The Falcons showed some life late in the second quarter, cutting the Panthers' lead to 4. Then they looked like the 2013 Falcons and allowed 20 unanswered Panthers points to lose by 24. Cam Newton was solid completing 62% of his passes for 249 with a TD and 2 picks; he added a rushing TD, as did Mike Tolbert. Matt Ryan completed 20 of his 27 passes, but 3 of those incompletions were interceptions (one of which was returned for a TD).
Carolina moves up to the final NFC wild card spot at 5-3 and is now behind New Oreans by just a game; they play in weeks 14 and 16, so things certiainly aren't over there. The Falcons falls to 2-6, three games behind Carolina in the wild card race and four behind New Orleans for the division.
Cam Newton is elusive during non-laptop-thievery situations
.
Steve Smith is hungry too! He and Jared Cook should go to McDonalds together!
.
Sweet pick, Brah.
.
Mike Tolbert is sexy, and nobody is allowed to say otherwise.
.
Eagles 49, Raiders 20
HOLY NICK FOLES. Can you believe that this guy threw for 7 touchdowns this Sunday?
Oh wait, that's just my sexy roommate Peter on Halloween. He sat on a couch this Sunday. It was this guy.
Foles threw TD's to Riley Cooper (3), DeSean Jackson, Zach Ertz, LeSean McCoy and Brent Celek. 7 passing TD's on 24 completions. Wowzers. The Raiders actually ran the ball pretty effectively (33 carries for 210 yards and 2 TD's) but just couldn't put together the points together to keep up.
Philly is now a game and a half out of the final wild card spot in the NFC but just a game out of the NFC East lead. The Raiders are a game and a half out of the final wild card spot in the AFC but are 5.5 games out of the AFC West.
Nick Foles incredibly threw a pass that wasn't caught for a TD. Just a 59 yarder to DeSean Jackson, nothing to see here.
.
Shady being shifty
.
Since it's Riley Cooper scoring on a black team, is that raycess?
.
DeSean is stylin' and profilin'
.
Seahawks 27, Buccaneers 24 (OT)
The Buccaneers took a 21-0 lead late in the second quarter. That was cute. You knew they were going to lose, right? There were a bunch of nice fantasy games, as Russell Wilson had 2 passing TD's and a rushing one (albeit with 2 picks), Marshawn Lynch hat 125 rushing yards, Mike James had 158 rushing yards (and a passing TD!!!!) and Mike Glennon had 2 passing TD. Luckily for the Bucs, for the first week this season they aren't the biggest NFL embarrassment in the state of Florida! Thanks Dolphins!
Seattle remains the class of the NFC at 8-1. They are 1.5 games ahead of SF in the NFC West. Tampa Bay remains in a battle with Jacksonville for last place in the entire universe at 0-8.
This is my favorite GIF of the year I think!
.
Ow, sorry Mike Glennon.
.
You can try to tackle Russell Wilson, but you can't tackle Russell Wilson, so why even try?
.
Browns 24, Ravens 18
THE BROWNS BEAT THE RAVENS AND THE RAVENS ARE 3-5 AND HAHAHA. Davone Bess had 2 TD's, which is something that I never expected to type three months ago. So did Marlon Brown, but I didn't even know who he was three months ago. Baltimore struggled running the ball (21 carries for 55 yards), lost the turnover battle by 1, and were penalized 9 times for 80 yards, which are three things that I nitpicked rather than 3 true reasons why they lost. Still, HAHAHA.
Cleveland is 4-5 and two games behind Cincy for the AFC North lead, but are just a game out of sixth place New York for the last wild card spot. Baltimore is 2.5 games behind Cincy and a game and a half behind the Jets.
Tip Drill part 2!

Greg Littlololol
.
Patriots 55, Steelers 31
Tom Brady, Stevan Ridley, Rob Gronkowski and Danny Amendola all had breakout games, which is what most expected for them to be doing much earlier than week 9 in 2013. Brady had 4 TD's and 432 yards passing, Ridley had 115 rushing yards and 2 rushing TD's, and Gronk and Amendola both had 122+ yards and a receiving TD. Aaron Dobson had a nice day as well, catching 5 balls for 130 yards and 2 TD. Ridley lost a fumble, so he'll probably never get another carry until the end of civilization. Ben Roethlisberger threw four of his own TD's (3 to Jerricho Cotchery since we currently live in 2006 and 1 to Antonio Brown), but turned the ball over three times to partially negate all of that.
The Pats are 7-2 now and sit two games ahead of the Jets in the AFC East. Pittsburgh is 2-6, 2.5 games behind the Jets and 3.5 behind the Bengals.
Tom Brady throws for 4 TD's and still almost can't get a high five. At least LeGarrette Blount didn't punch him in the face.
.
Aaron Dobson exists?
.
.
At least Polamalu is still alive
.
Amazingly, Danny Amendola did not break his hands catching this pass.
.
Colts 27, Texans 24
The Texans were up 18 late in the third quarter, but TY Hilton caught three TD passes in the final 15:05 of the game. Case Keenum kinda out-battled Andrew Luck, posting a better completion rate (59% to 45%), more yards (350 to 271) and the same number of TD/INT (3/0)...but the Texans just couldn't win this one. Andre Johnson had 9 catches for 229 yards and 3 TD, which was pretty cool, though.
The Texans are 2.5 games out of the final wild card spot in the AFC and 4 behind Indy for the AFC South lead. Indy is 2 games ahead of Tennessee and 2.5 behind KC for first in the AFC. Hopefully Gary Kubiak is okay.
DeAndre Hopkins did not catch a TD, but still cool
.
TY Hilton does not need your peasant shoes!
.
.
Andre Johnson is alive again!
.
.
Bears 27, Packers 20
Depending on which sources you trust, Aaron Rodgers may or may not have a broken collarbone (as of 1 am on Monday night, so punch me in the face if I forget to update this before I post it). Key fantasy players Brandon Marshall, Matt Forte, Eddie Lacy and Alshon Jeffery all had TD's, as did reserve James Starks. The game remained close until the end, but Seneca Wallace just couldn't get the Packers where they needed to be, passing for just 114 yards with a pick and being sacked 4 times (including twice on the final drive to lose).
This was a tough loss for Green Bay, who now fall in a three way tie for the NFC North title (Detroit currently holds the tiebreak). The Bears face the Lions next week, however, so there won't be a three way tie at that point.
Rodgers got hurt

These cheesegraterheads are pretty sweet

Great evasion by McCown and catch by Marshall here
