2015 Six Pick - Week Seven

Crazy and intense games, coupled with P5 head coaches leaving, made college football week 6 the most memorable of the season to date. Parity and competitiveness like it's never been before? So much money in it, better win now or you are out! Week six was nuts, here's to week 7 being more so! I could have done 10 games this week, easily. A great schedule and will be damn near impossible not to have a few awesome finishes, hope it matches last week.

Saturday, October 17th
Ole Miss -10.5 at Memphis
12:00 pm ESPN2

• Meet Justin Fuente, he did the impossible, he's made Memphis good at the footballs. He'll be handsomely rewarded by some AD to coach at a P5 school next year
• Hugh Freeze wanted this game in his old stomping grounds to help with recruiting, I am sure he never expected the Tigers to be this good. He should pray this isn't too challenging since he also plays a SEC schedule

Pick: Memphis being a homedog with a huge chip on their shoulder, I'll take the 10.5.

Alabama -3.5 at Texas A&M
3:30 pm CBS

• If aTm wants to ever take the next step, this is the season. Every SEC West team while talented is flawed and a bit one dimensional on offense. This week, make Jake Coker beat them
• ON one hand Bama rolled the Aggies 59-0 last season, on the other it's another spread offense, the kryptonite to the Saban Defense

Pick: The Aggies keeping it within a field goal. While the magic of Manziel is long gone, it's aTm Defensive Coordinator, John Chavis that will make it really difficult for the Tide.

Michigan State at Michigan -8.5
3:30 pm ESPN

• I said Michigan, not Michigan State was my dark horse national champion, right, RIGHT? Love (I do) or hate him, Harbaugh is a boss
• ESPN needs a couple of cameras at midfield before and after the game to make sure the viewer gets every word of Mark Dantonio and Jim Harbaugh. A very good chance this is going to be a surly talk and handshake

Pick: Spartans and the points, Mark Dantonio loves being the disrespected, underdog. He eats that shit for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Florida at LSU -8.5
7:00 pm ESPN

• Run Leonard Fournette 50 times in one game, just once Les, just once
• Finally an even playing field, as LSU won't be the only team to play without a quarterback on Saturday, the Gators RB Kelvin Taylor better do his best Fournette impression

Pick: Florida getting the points, they'll slow Fournette a tad, but not enough. It will be low scoring and ugly.

Penn State at Ohio State -17.5
8:00 pm ABC

• Ohio State hasn't been playing that well and far from potential. At some point they'll have to play much better, but busting out alernate uni's over the classics, doubles down on me thinking this won't be the week they bust out
• As a 15 year connoisseur of bad offensive play, I fully recognize PSU's is poop and that can't protect a very talented quarterback, who plays in the wrong system for his talents. Not great Bob

Pick: PSU and the 17.5, Ohio State needs to prove it.

Arizona State at Utah -6.5
9:00 pm ESPN

• The buzz, well the other buzz around USC is Kyle Whittingham as a potential USC candidate. Whittingham has had issues with his AD and may be looking for greener pastures. Beat ASU like a drum, sober will open those Southern California wallets more
• If the Sun Devils can win this game, there is very good chance they'll be favored in every game the rest of the season and back in the Pac 12 South's driver seat

Pick: Utah isn't going through the season unscathed, but I'll take them by a touchdown vs ASU.

Beer of the Week:

Answer Mouth Hug
In my humble opinion The Answer Brewpub makes the best hop forward ales in the commonwealth. Luckily, I have a crowler (32 ounce can growler) of this double citra DIPA, ready to drink on Saturday night and yes the naming of this beer created some discord at the Answer.
