Crazy and intense games, coupled with P5 head coaches leaving, made college football week 6 the most memorable of the season to date. Parity and competitiveness like it's never been before? So much money in it, better win now or you are out! Week six was nuts, here's to week 7 being more so! I could have done 10 games this week, easily. A great schedule and will be damn near impossible not to have a few awesome finishes, hope it matches last week.

A Michigan Man with that Sark breath
Saturday, October 17th
Ole Miss -10.5 at Memphis
12:00 pm ESPN2

- Meet Justin Fuente, he did the impossible, he's made Memphis good at the footballs. He'll be handsomely rewarded by some AD to coach at a P5 school next year
- Hugh Freeze wanted this game in his old stomping grounds to help with recruiting, I am sure he never expected the Tigers to be this good. He should pray this isn't too challenging since he also plays a SEC schedule
Pick: Memphis being a homedog with a huge chip on their shoulder, I'll take the 10.5.
***
Alabama -3.5 at Texas A&M
3:30 pm CBS
- If aTm wants to ever take the next step, this is the season. Every SEC West team while talented is flawed and a bit one dimensional on offense. This week, make Jake Coker beat them
- ON one hand Bama rolled the Aggies 59-0 last season, on the other it's another spread offense, the kryptonite to the Saban Defense
Pick: The Aggies keeping it within a field goal. While the magic of Manziel is long gone, it's aTm Defensive Coordinator, John Chavis that will make it really difficult for the Tide.
***
Michigan State at Michigan -8.5
3:30 pm ESPN
- I said Michigan, not Michigan State was my dark horse national champion, right, RIGHT? Love (I do) or hate him, Harbaugh is a boss
- ESPN needs a couple of cameras at midfield before and after the game to make sure the viewer gets every word of Mark Dantonio and Jim Harbaugh. A very good chance this is going to be a surly talk and handshake
Pick: Spartans and the points, Mark Dantonio loves being the disrespected, underdog. He eats that shit for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
***
Florida at LSU -8.5
7:00 pm ESPN

- Run Leonard Fournette 50 times in one game, just once Les, just once
- Finally an even playing field, as LSU won't be the only team to play without a quarterback on Saturday, the Gators RB Kelvin Taylor better do his best Fournette impression
Pick: Florida getting the points, they'll slow Fournette a tad, but not enough. It will be low scoring and ugly.
***
Penn State at Ohio State -17.5
8:00 pm ABC

- Ohio State hasn't been playing that well and far from potential. At some point they'll have to play much better, but busting out alernate uni's over the classics, doubles down on me thinking this won't be the week they bust out
- As a 15 year connoisseur of bad offensive play, I fully recognize PSU's is poop and that can't protect a very talented quarterback, who plays in the wrong system for his talents. Not great Bob
Pick: PSU and the 17.5, Ohio State needs to prove it.
***
Arizona State at Utah -6.5
9:00 pm ESPN
- The buzz, well the other buzz around USC is Kyle Whittingham as a potential USC candidate. Whittingham has had issues with his AD and may be looking for greener pastures. Beat ASU like a drum, sober will open those Southern California wallets more
- If the Sun Devils can win this game, there is very good chance they'll be favored in every game the rest of the season and back in the Pac 12 South's driver seat
Pick: Utah isn't going through the season unscathed, but I'll take them by a touchdown vs ASU.
Beer of the Week:

Answer Mouth Hug
In my humble opinion The Answer Brewpub makes the best hop forward ales in the commonwealth. Luckily, I have a crowler (32 ounce can growler) of this double citra DIPA, ready to drink on Saturday night and yes the naming of this beer created some discord at the Answer.
Picks are against the spread.

Beer: Good call on The Answer! They make some delightful IPAs. This week I will probably be trying Victory's Moving Parts 5 using an IPA glass as it is pictured.

i have a Hard in the Paint (all mosaic) crowler too and I think it's better, even though I am #teamcitra. I just wanted to drop Mouth Hug on the 6P.
Oh yea - Hard in the Paint is insanely good! I got to try of a couple of their IPAs back in May. I don't remember the name, but they had a nice IPA with a blend of 4 hops as well.
universal truth? drank?
I think it was Succumb. I remember it being pretty good, but I liked Larceny more.
Just had a crowler of that yesterday. It's good, but a little one note, still prefer Larceny and its variants. On the subject of VA IPAs though, have you had Triple Crossing? In Richmond I think I'd still (very, very) narrowly give them the edge in overall IPA creation. Tough call though.
it's been a year, and yes i like theirs too. my profile is very light malt and most of the flavor from hops. i like petty larceny best, and regular larceny was just ok (by their standards) and grand larceny is my least favorite of their dipas, but even still it's still very good.
hard in paint > universal truth > mouth hug > drank > grand larceny
had HIP, MH and GL last weekend.
With you on the light malt taste. Big reason I typically prefer single IPAs to doubles. And anything with caramel malts is just being ruined. Probably why I like answer and triple crossing so much, they're both pretty vocal about light malt bills. Haven't had truth, hug, or drank, so clearly I've got some homework for the weekend
And the reason why I like 60 minute so much more than 90 minute from Dogfish...
Memphis - And Hokie Nation goes crazy for the coach.
Bama - PAWWWWLLL
Michigan State - 8.5???? wow.
LSU - they expose the gators
Ohio State - sigh.

Well, since SLOP stole my thunder, and because my record this season is in the garbage, I figured I would do everyone a favor and make the exact opposite pics as SLOP. That way all 12 universities from the 6 match-ups will be represented in pictorial form. Enjoy!
Well hello Aggies!
I swear that is an attractive woman. Im pretty sure she has been pictured before in a different picture this season.
Also, VPI are you and SevenLayers gonna duke it out?! Cuz I might pay to see that!
you've caught me before using the same pics...I won't challenge your memory again. I didn't think I had used that particular picture this season, but I'm sure I've used it before. Some schools have much more to choose from than others...that's just the way it is
I don't know how big SLOP is. I'd fight him but it's probably not worth it ;) They're just pics and, hey, the more the merrier, right?
I'm sure we'd all be okay with the two of you during it out in "pictorial form".
Haha what I mean is you've never used this particular picture before, but you've definitely posted a different picture of her before. I only remember this because I'm crushing hardcore lol.
And you're absolutely correct on that last point!
The funny thing? This week, your picks are equally as feasible as his.
Ole Miss -10.5
Alabama -3.5 BIG. Saban will unleash on them.
Michigan -8.5 Sparty is good...but Missagain's D is maybe one of the best in the land this year.
Florida +8.5 straight up upset over the Bayou Bengals.
Penn State +17.5 The all-skate party for Brutus could be coming to an end shortly.
Arizona State +6.5 A nail biter after my bedtime...
I've got a growler and some bottles of this tasty stuff coming back from Asheville this weekend. The Pernicious was the Silver medal winner at the GABF this past year. The first east of the Mississippi to win anything since 1999.
had a couple ww last night, including pearfigt, those 2 ipas are better.
hitting Asheville area soon myself, always exciting.

Ole Miss -10.5 at Memphis : Fuente is not gonna blow his audition for a better gig here. Memphis keeps it close.
Alabama -3.5 at Texas A&M : I'll believe that 'Bama can beat a fast-paced offense with a mobile QB when I see it.
Michigan State at Michigan -8.5 : Still not ready to believe that Michigan is as good as they've looked so far, or that State is as bad as they've looked. I don't know who wins, but it'll be by less than a touchdown.
Florida at LSU -8.5 : LSU probably wins, but UF covers
Penn State at Ohio State -17.5 : OSU finally starts to return to form. They're still mad about nearly losing in Happy Valley last year. We've seen what an angry OSU is capable of around here.
Arizona State at Utah -6.5 : Still haven't figured out what ASU is this year, but we all know pretty well that Utah is a beast.

I've had terrible calls the last couple of weeks...hopefully that changes this week.
Ole Miss -10.5 - No comment
Alabama -3.5 TAMU got destroyed last year, they'll be looking for revenge, but lose by at least a TD.
Michigan State +8.5 - This will be a very close game
LSU -8.5 - Florida will slip a bit and I have them losing by 10 points.
Penn State +17.5 because I hate huge lines like this
Utah -6.5 - Close game, but this will be a 10-14 point victory for Utah
