It's almost time for the Summer Games Done Quick (SGDQ) in late June of 2019 and hope everyone is excited to see games being sped run for charity. SGDQ is a charity organization where speedrunners of different games try to complete games from different eras (1980s-present), different genres (horror, platform, action/adventure), and in different categories (glitchless/100%/Any%) raising money for the Doctors Without Borders.
I thought I would post about the AGDQ and SGDQ (Summer Games Done Quick) bi-annually for anyone that is interested in watching or may have heard of the event and wanted to know more about it. SGDQ starts on June 23rd and ends June 30th. I have put links below of their schedule, youtube channel, and twitch channel.
Games Done Quick (GDQ) Youtube channel for past events
GDQ Twitch Channel to watch the live stream.
I haven't looked at much of the schedule myself lately and don't know which games are being ran this time, though I have an idea there will be at least 2 or 3 long RPGs, a Mario game, and a LoZ game but don't know about any other game.

I for one love SGDQ. Last year around this time I was working a shit job and getting close to leaving when SGDQ happened. I got to be paid to sit back and watch the speedruns while the kids I trained to replace me did all the work around my department. Was super chill. It's where I first fell in love with PepsiMan. Seriously watch this run. This game is bonkers.
What did I just watch, and why?
A speedrun for a terrible example of video game product placement from 1999, and because you have no self control.
And because PepsiMan is the best video game ever!
I'm more of a California Raisins fan myself.

The Banjo Kazooie 100% run is always fun glad to see it on the schedule
Jhobz, one of the people running Crash Bandicoot 3, is a Virginia Tech grad
I didn't realize Jhobz was a Tech grad. I knew Darbian was.
Just bumping this as a reminder that the event starts this Sunday.
Finally looked at the schedule with my favorites I want to see are Final DOOM, DKC 2, Majora's Mask, Chrono Trigger, Pokemon Crystal (first time seeing Crystal being run), and OCTOPATH Traveler.
