HC at VT from 1976-1987.

My brother played for his son Page at RC and they're a great family. They did and still do a great deal for the basketball community locally.

70's/80's Hokies/Maroons, feel free to share any stories you may have from Coach's time at VT or RC.

RIP Coach Moir.

RIP Coach Moir.

Coach Moir was the coach when I was in school. He had some very competitive teams in the Metro Conference. We always wanted the games to be runaways by mid-second half, so we could chant for Page to come into the game. Coach always seemed to be a great guy. Will be missed. Prayers for his family.

Take the shortest route to the ball and arrive in bad humor.

A good guy, and a good coach. We were much more a basketball school during that time, and we were pretty damn good. RIP Coach Moir.

Very sad news to hear of Coach Moir's passing. He was a cornerstone of VT, always running a first class basketball program, and putting solid teams on the floor. I watched his team play all of my undergrad and grad school years, and saw some great players including Bimbo, Dell Curry, Dale Solomon, and Wayne Robinson. Saw his team play some great games, beating #1 Memphis State, losing to eventual National Champion Louisville on a buzzer beater by Darrel Griffith. Also, remember watching Les Hansen sink a full court toss to beat Fl State. Coach Moir was always a guy that represented the very best of VT's principles and values. RIP, Coach and condolences to the Moir family.
