WBB vs Notre Dame

The Ladies play Notre Dame at Notre Dame at 8 PM tonight. The game is on Regional Sports Networks. Notre Dame is 5-9 in the ACC and 10-16 overall. They have not been a very good team this year; but I would always worry about a team coached by Muffet McGraw.

Their starting 5 are relatively tall and the other 3 who play regularly are also tall.

They have only shot 36% overall and 26% from three in ACC play. They average 3 made threes per game. They average 19 TO's and 14 Assists per game. They have been out rebounded by 6 rebounds per game. And are only averaging 61 points per game.

On paper this looks like a win for the Hokies; but away games are tough in the ACC.

Go Hokies!

20-10 Hokies after one quarter.

Doesn't matter if it's cake or pie as long as it's chocolate.

Liz is having a monster game. She has an outside chance for a quadruple double. Halfway through the 3qtr with 10pts 8 rebounds 6 blocks and 5 assists.

Finished with 19pts 10rbs 8 blocks and 4 assists

As usual against the Hokies, a player goes crazy from three. Sam Brunelle, who has 25 threes in 14 games is 4 for 4 tonight. Hokies still up 48-34. Type too slow. 51-34

It's kind of ridiculous to think that this team is 2 baskets from being tied for second and 1 game back of 1st

Never Forget #1 Overall Seed UVA 54, #64 UMBC 74

Unfortunately, State would have to lose 3 more times and VT to win out for that to happen. The best VT looks like they can do is 5th place with how all the tie breakers work. Have to win against UVA and Duke for that to happen. Otherwise it's going to be 6th place. I'd rather play FSU in the 2nd round than NC State.

what is the point of the ACC Network if so many of Tech's games are gonna be blacked out to be shown on an RSN?

The Ladies need to learn how to play with a lead. This is not the first time this year they have let a lead get away from them. When they try to slow the offense down, they don't seem to be able to get a decent shot. Sequence at the end of the game:

3:23 Sheppard made 3
3:12 Foul Kitley
3:06 Kitley 1 for 2 free throws
2:37 Rivers TO
2:08 Cole miss
1:50 Rivers miss
1:11 Kitley miss lay up
1:04 Cole miss 3
:28 Kitley made lay up
:19 Cole TO
:11 Mabrey 1 for 2 free throws

This is from the ESPN play by play. I have not seen the game yet. But for the last 3:23 of the game, they made one lay up and were 2 for 4 on free throws with 2 turnovers and 3 missed shots. Lead went from 15 to 6. Good thing they had a big lead.

Coach Brooks need to find a way for them to play with the lead without completely being ineffective on offense.
