From Reddit: Value Added equation for FBS Kickers 2020

To sum up the article linked below, if the average % for FBS kickers to make a FG between 30-39 yards is 75%, then the average value added across the FBS is 2.25 points (3*0.75). Therefore if a kicker makes the kick, he has added 0.75 points to his team above the average. But if he misses, he has lost 2.25 points below the average. So out of 5 kicks in the 30-39 yard range, the average FBS kicker would bring in 11.25 points (5*2.25) to his/her team. If your kicker goes 5/5 in that same range, they've added 15 points (5*3), putting him 3.75 points above the average FBS kicker in terms of value added.

Our man Brian Johnson comes in at 7.179 points above the average FBS kicker using this formula, placing him 9th out of all kickers who attempted at least 10 FG's in 2020.

Number 1 was Cake York of LSU with 11.565 points above average and dead last belongs to Merek Glover of Tulane with -5.608 points below the average. Brian Delaney for UVA brought his team roughly -3 points below the average value added.
