Our new single winging QB🙌

Bite your tongue this Nosferatu
It's minimal these stomach knots
This conscious can't hide from his soul
Till now

6'6", shame he's not like 240 pounds so he could be the size of Logan Thomas and be bigger than all the Miami linebackers

I love how the VT jersey is breaking through the TAMU jersey in the graphic.

Nike isn't going to like that Adidas logo on there

Maybe we're getting that adidas money this off-season.

Damn. Had my hopes up for a minute. Thought he was committing to VPI&SU.

TX2VT back on?

Directions from Blacksburg to whoville, go north till you smell it then go east until you step in it

So is he a qb or receiver?

Listed as an RB by 247...

Hokies United l Ut Prosim

yeah, hasn't played QB in two years but from the aggie site
Is he transferring to be a QB, RB or TE?
Everything on the 247 VT site appears they want him as a QB.

According to a source that is familiar with this recruitment, Virginia Tech extended a scholarship offer to former Texas A&M quarterback Connor Blumrick earlier today after a few weeks of constant communication. The 6-foot 5-inch, 215-pound quarterback entered the NCAA Transfer Portal as a junior on December 30, 2020. He is considered a graduate transfer and has immediate eligibility.

This makes weird sense when you factor in the Logan Thomas position history at VT.

You're the only ones that I can talk to about this, you guys.

I see that more as paint-by-numbers writing than any sort of confirmation of what position VT is looking to use him.

He already has his Twitter bio updated and it says "Virginia Tech QB", so presumably we've brought him over and will start him out as QB

I read that wrong and thought you said we would start him at QB (QB1) and was just like I know this site thinks little of the coaches but come on, we still have Burmiester.

yup, probably could have used a little better wordsmithing there

A receiver from A&M becoming a QB? Unheard of

If only he was from Texas Tech, then I'd be excited. /s

Filled the QB room with some experience and hopefully he can contribute. Not much known on him personally. Glad to have him though.

Saw this earlier, 0 comments, had questions.

Did some work, came back, saw 15 comments. Now I just have more questions.

Old sigline: I've been cutting back on the drinking.

New Sigline: lol it's football season.

Dude, we were watching the Hokies kick Dooks ass!!!

Always happy to have more talent, but not totally sure where he fits.

I'm certain we don't need more RB at this point, plus at 6'5" he would be the tallest RB maybe ever.

The only film I can find on him at QB is basically all from H.S.

Looks like a great athlete and hope we find a place for him to contribute. Hopefully he doesn't become only another option for Fuente's itchy QB finger.

Has to play WR, right? But if that is true, why did A&M move a 6'5" QB to RB? And everywhere is saying he's a QB transfer? So many questions.

He is a QB, and was brought to VT to play QB.

Quick background, he was in the 2016 Elite 11 as a Finalist (for those that get hyped for QBs with an Elite 11 pedigree, so was QP). His last competitive and consistent reps at QB came in high school... as a Junior... in 2015.

A foot injury kept him from playing his Senior year of high school in 2016.

Got to TAMU, sat behind Mond, never played outside of throwing one pass (a completion mind you) as a Freshman in 2018. Then moved to TE as a Sophomore, then eventually RB as a Junior, where he mostly saw game action on special teams, which is why I'm guessing his position was also listed as RB, though I don't really know why.

247 VT Board moderators stated that he was extended an offer by Corn to compete at QB.

So to summarize, Fu/Corn brought in a graduate transfer QB who hasn't played the position consistently in 5+ years, which was his Junior year of high school.

So there's that.

This definitely brings new insight to VT being a development program.

I had an awesome Grayson Allen meme to use in another thread, but for the life of me I couldn't figure out how to embed Tenor gifs. Glad I wasn't the only one having trouble with that.

Um. I don't know how to respond to this without ripping on the staff, so I'll just say thank you for the enlightening information.

edit: seriously? But I DIDN'T rip on the staff....

21st century QBs Undefeated vs UVA:
MV7, MV5, LT3, Braxton Burmeister, Ryan Willis, Josh Jackson, Jerod Evans, Michael Brewer, Tyrod Taylor, Sean Glennon, and Grant Noel. That's right, UVA. You couldn't beat Grant Noel.

does anyone know why he didn't see the field this year? I see A&M still has him listed on their roster as a TE, 3rd/4th string, but I cannot find any stats for him this year. Was he an opt-out due to covid?

Too bad he is not 6'13, would have made a good TE...

I can imagine no more rewarding a career. And any man who may be asked in this century what he did to make his life worthwhile, I think can respond with a good deal of pride and satisfaction:
“I served in the United States Navy"

He didn't mention a position, only "career". That might spell TE.

#Let's Go - Hokies

Of course he's going to play QB guys! We have a QB whisperer as a head coach, remember???

You will see this game, this upset and this sign next on ESPN Sportscenter. Virginia Tech 31 Miami 7

Move this guy to TE immediately

Hokies, Local Soccer, AFC Ajax, Ravens

We will have to see what Shibest thinks first

I am not sure what to do with my hands now

Always happy to welcome a new Hokie

There's always a lighthouse. There's always a man. There's always a city.

Interesting for sure, wonder where he will end up. WR/TE send logical, but could get some time in the QB run first. Also saw we were looking at an FCS All-American QB whose spring season got cancelled.

I am not sure what to do with my hands now

The coaching staff had to see enough success with the QP4 packages to know that having a change-of-pace run-first QB is worth exploring. Can't base your offense on that, but I would not be surprised to see 5 plays per game packaged for a guy with QP-like physical attributes.

I'm thinking more of a Dalton Keene role with an option to pass....

But if Mitchell is selected in the draft, it'll be renamed the Rambo role on offense. Not cause Mitchell extended the draft pick, but bc Keene started it.

He came from what many thought should have been a playoff team, as did DT Williams, plus Williams has won it all, so I like the winning mentality(ies?) we are bringing in. They may even be able to tell us exactly what kind of bacon we should be serving.

Turkey sprinkles?

His original info states he was a pro style QB. Interesting that he is considered as a running back. He must be an enigma?? Glad to have him on the team, I hope that he can contribute .

Burmeister and Blumrick sounds like a legit law firm
