Week 7 Other Games Thread

Let the Tuesday night NCAAF games begin.

No MACtion tonight but App State and Louisiana-Lafayette is starting now on ESPN2.

Is Jacoby Pinkney eligible for App State this season? doesn't look like he has registered any stats so far, if he is

He should be eligible as he sat out last season. I guess he is either injured or buried on the depth chart.

Sick TD run by Memphis. Makes me dream about Herbert's long runs last year. I just checked and our longest single rush this year is 33 yards from Blumrick in the MTSU game. That's actually our only rush that went over 30 yards this season. Sigh.

edit to add:
1. Memphis guy definitely pushes the last defender in the back
2. Prior to that Memphis scoring drive, Navy had a TD drive with TOP of 11min 50 sec!

Man Clemson gets let off the hook again

That Dome almost beat Wake last week. Dafuq is with that place?

"That’s a stupid question. Next question."

Clemson is the luckiest team!

"Take care of the little things and the big things will come."

Glad others are starting to see this.

If you're keeping track Clemson is 0-6 ATS

(add if applicable) /s

Joining Mizzou, Kansas and New Mexico as the only teams with out a win ATS

A coward's 3 from Babers yields coward results.

You are a double digit home dog, you have a run based offense, a big running QB, and the FBS leading rusher, and you don't go for it on 4th and 1. Insane. You have nothing to lose.

syr gave it away. Very frustrating.
At least the clemson fans are quiet this year, mostly.

That TAMU offense is a thing of beauty... And that Mizzou defense is hideous...

One of the most college football things ever is Zach Calzada getting his groove against... Alabama... after struggling the first few weeks he was thrust into starting duty.

LSU really rallying and playing well against UF. Hoping Coach O can stick around somehow, that man bleeds LSU. I think he just needs some better coordinators.

He's gotten back to back seasons to hire new coordinators.

He also still has elite talent on that roster, even with all the injuries.

His leash deserves to be short. He's gotta prove he can do it when he doesn't just have an insane perfect storm of elite talent and Joe Burrow going from above average to elite in an offseason.

True, he does have to prove it. The refs are certainly doing everything they can to give this game to UF. Every big LSU play you can bet there's a flag coming.

Yes the penalties have come up on a couple big LSU plays, but what are the refs supposed to do? If a guy is ineligble downfield are they supposed to just not call it because it was a big play for LSU?

I think LSU is rightfully ahead of Florida right now, but I do not agree that the refs are doing anything to intentionally sabotage them.

The early games are setting the stage for another chaotic week. LSU, Auburn, and Indiana all up on their ranked opponents right now.

WOW! Lol Florida just hit a hail mary to the one UF receiver surrounded by like 6 LSU defenders. Wild.

Florida's Hail Mary just got wiped out by a pick six by LSU.

Florida having some serious miscues.

Yeah they are playing an extremely sloppy game, and LSU still has the talent to make the pay for it.

True, but Florida is far from out of it.

Probably best not to taunt them.

Richardson is a decent all-around QB.

I agree it's definitely far from over. They were down 18 to Bama and flipped the switch to get back in it. When you run the ball extremely well it really helps a comeback.

LSU has a great running offense, that's for sure. As the commentator has pointed out, Florida can't defend the one play.

I'm sure there will be some serious heat on Grantham. I think UF fans have been unhappy with him for a while.

Watch us beat Pitt and lose to Duke

I'd certainly like to see them achieve half of that today.

What does everyone think of a Scott Frost for Fuente trade? Would both sides come out better, the same, worse???

This isn't serious. Just crazy that two good programs with supposed home run hires have been lacking. Both coaches may suck, but interesting thought experiment.

Yes,that's the Hokie Bird riding a camel. Why'd you ask?

are you not watching this game? they are losing it in very VT fashion. It would the same complaints, at least to empty red zone visits that would have Nebraska winning this game.

Yes that's what I'm saying both teams are under performing. It's probably the coaches just suck, but there's a small chance that a change in scenery for both coaches could be beneficial.

Yes,that's the Hokie Bird riding a camel. Why'd you ask?

Yeah I read your statement wrong. But change of scenery doesn't help when you constantly make the wrong decision in the redzone.

I'm just glad I don't have the option of watching UNC-Miami.

I'm still figuring this out.

So who gets fired after this weeks games? LSU? Nebraska? Does Cutcliffe start talking about retirement?

Wet stuff on the red stuff.

It won't be LSU, I wouldn't think.

But with 3:30 minutes left, there could still be a lot of offense in that game...

Horns implode again. Mike Gundy putting together what could be a great season at OK State

So what you're saying is, we got blown out by a sion to be top 25 team?

Yes,that's the Hokie Bird riding a camel. Why'd you ask?

If you have ACCN, Miami is driving, down by 3 to UNC with 1:20 remaining

South Carolina's back up QB (I think) just throw a game tying touchdown pass.

Then got a strip sack and got the ball back to take a knee on it.

Yep it was the backup

Shane Beamer with a great postgame, sideline interview; was great to see. Makes Fuente appear to be a complete dud. In fact, Fuente is just a plain out dud.

"Vick, dashing back . . . here he comes again . . . Electrifying . . . and have you ever seen anything like this?"

Not a huge Heupel fan but in watching Tenn for 5 min you can instantly see how much more knowledgeable he is than CornFu.

Hooker really isn't a different player than he was at VT, just has tremendously better coaching.

A) Incredible catch for the first score in the NCSU and BC game.
B) DB for BC is completely confused on what happened.
C) Only 2 minutes into the game and there's a premature surrender cobra.

Stay classy, Tennessee.

Everyone complaining about our fans should watch this. Ole Miss has left their sideline, a golf ball almost hit Lane Kiffen, the Tenn cheerleaders left the field, dance team left the field, and now the band is leaving.

y'all see why I don't like Tennessee fans? this is wild, they had to stop the game because the fans are throwing bottles and golf balls into the field hitting players and coaches

edit: 10 minutes later, game has not resumed, band and cheerleaders are being removed from field

Yes, I made this point in the other thread.

Don't be these fans.

Throwing objects onto the field and putting student athletes, coaches, bands, cheerleaders, and other fans in anger should never be tolerated. Booing a crappy product on the field? Fine by me. Those people love VT, didn't harm anyone, paid to be there, and have had enough.

I'm specifically talking about throwing things on the field, and at people.

It's classless and unnecessary.

Like paper airplanes.

Police are clearing student sections near the field level. Stay classy, Tennessee. Almost 20 minutes of delay.

Game is continuing 25 minutes later. This game should've been be called as a punishment for the university along with fines.

It's been half an hour, and 30s of game clock has run. Hooker looks like he's badly injured (or exhausted). And some Tenn still has a shot at winning.

What a ludicrous ending to this game. Bold but Tennessee should've been DQed after the behavior throwing trash at people on the field and sidelines.

Hope Hooker is OK.

Texas A&M got fined $100k for fans rushing the field. I wonder what the SEC might do to Tennessee.

A strongly worded letter. A&M just doesn't understand the competitive nature of the SEC so they need to be taught a lesson./s

LOL... after all that they end the game running it out of bounds knowing they had to score on the last play.

Sideline reporter trying REALLY hard to bait Kiffin into talking bad about Tennessee. Gracefully dodged.

Milton has to throw the ball there.

"Sooner or later, if man is ever to be worthy of his destiny, we must fill our heart with tolerance."
-Stan Lee

"Never half-ass two things. Whole-ass one thing."
-Ron Swanson

"11-0, bro"
-Hunter Carpenter (probably)

But the PA announcer said to stop throwing things on the field!

Anxious to see comments from the coach and AD after that one. Also excited to see the fine.

Another white bronco? The first one didn't go too far.

Gutted for Hendon, really hope he's alright.

Milton is an idiot for trying to run and not throwing it up on the final play, especially after they nearly connected on the down prior.

Stay classy Tennessee fans lol

VB born, class of '14

That was absolutely insane. Terrible scene, but will likely go down as one of those iconic "College football is crazy" moments.

Really sucked to see Hendon go down before he had a chance to take some shots at the EZ. Hopefully he isn't hurt too bad, but if you have to miss a game... at Alabama probably isn't the worst one for staying healthy.

Hooker wasn't putting any weight on the foot. Ankle, I'm guessing major sprain, 2-3 weeks. If it's broken, good luck.

sometimes breaks are faster than sprains

Danny is always open

Breaks are by far the better injury to have.

Faster heal time and no long term adverse affects.

I sprained my ankle on Thanksgiving 3 years ago during my 1st daughter's gender reveal party and I still have terrible pain from it.

Not sure why Tennessee didn't pull a soccer move and clear the entire stadium and then resume the game. That was dangerous situation for people on the field and fans being hit.

Wet stuff on the red stuff.

I really don't see any major football team pulling that move and pissing off donors. It should have been done but I just don't see it happening.

That might have made people even madder.

Probably best just to halt the game and let folks regain their perspective.

They didn't though. Items continued to be thrown on the sidelines during play then when the game was over it started up again even worse and closer to the field of play.

Tennessee might not have fans next home game. That was ugly all around. I'm still perplexed by the golf ball.

i thought the exact same thing... someone got desperate at the tailgate, emptied the mustard, and loaded it up with brown water.

Mustard bottle makes a ton of sense, either as an alcohol bottle, or someone grabbing it from concessions and chucking it.

But a golf ball? At that point, I wouldn't have been surprised to see a dildo chucked onto the field.

I can see someone having an extra golf ball in their pocket.
