OT: TKP Meet-up at the Purdue Game?

If you are a Midwestern Hokie, like myself, this is the closest VT football will come to us this year. I plan on getting into town around noon and finding a bar. Which TKP folks are heading to West Lafayette and does anyone have a good place we could accumulate for some cold brews before the game?

I (and my family) are going to be there. I don't know the area and since I will have my kids with me I cant do a straight up bar but some kind of dining area with drinks we would be up for. Anyone have ideas on parking situation in that area?

I think there is some residential areas by the stadium I am going to hope have street parking. I also do not know much about the area but have heard of a diner called The XXX that is well known and a bar with chocolate factory or something in the name.

let's just go ahead and say you should not try to google directions to that diner while at work.

I will be there as well right after my son's JV game. We are looking forward to it!

Does anybody know what the visitors section is at Ross-Ade Stadium?

That's where they keep the Gator-ade.

If the seats I bought through the Hokie Club are any indication, then the visitor section is the Northwest corner endzone. Basically above the P in Purdue if you zoom in on the map in Illinois St. Louis Hokie's post.

Yeah, I was wondering where the VT tickets were going to be. Before I bought tickets I couldn't find any info on it at all. I ended up getting tickets closer to the south endzone.

OMG that field looks like crap! That's embarrassing, even if this was taken in the dead of the offseason. The turf managers should never allow the playing surface to get that bad.

Also, the map is in St Louis Hokie's post

Illinois - St. Louis - Same thing (ducks)

We have tickets in section 106 (only place close to the field where there were 5 seats in a row). From what I could find sections 101 - 105 are visitors, 106 - 107 is general public/student, and 108 on is student (on that side of the field).

Sections 106 and 107 contain both Student and general seating. Tickets not specified by the seller as Student tickets will be mapped to the general seating portion of the section http://espn.go.com/college-football/team/stadium/_/id/2509/purdue-boiler...

I am game. By the time I drop off my dog for the day, make the 3 hr drive, park and walk, I will be looking at about 1 pm as a meeting time.

Ok, perfect. My wife and I will be there at noon-ish if anyone else wants to join!

That's probably where I'll land too. My bus gets in at 1:00 PM. Although I am terribly unreliable on game days. I will be rocking a horse on a treadmill t-shirt.

Is the bus station walking distance? Need a ride on Saturday?

Is anyone interested in checking out People's Brewing Co? It's on the Lafayette side of the river, but supposed to be a really great local craft brewery.

Sounds good, but I have the feeling I won't have the time. I am glad you found it though so that I can look for their products around town.

Looks like Sands and Whit will be making an appearance there.

Welp. My hot water heater just crapped out on me.

Enjoy the game, guys.

I just saw a DBU shirt in the crowd shot. Who was it??? Looked to be sitting near the field.
