*** We've also done a little bit of reporting.
A huge "Thank you!" to everyone who read us and/or was an active part of the community in 2011. We plan on working even harder and increasing our coverage of the Hokies in 2012. If you like what we're doing and want to help, which we'd greatly appreciate, here are a few things you can do:
- Like our Facebook page and whore it around to fellow Hokies on Facebook. Believe it or not, Facebook is one of the top ways people who don't know about the site see the site.
- Register and join the community. A (any) site is only as good as its community. 99% of the comments throughout the season were insightful, intelligent and rational. Y'all are the best Hokies community on the Internet.
- Tell your friends, classmates and coworkers. You'd be surprised how many times we've heard, "I started reading the site because a buddy told me," or something similar.
If you have any suggestions for us, specific topics you'd like to see covered or ways we can improve please tell us. Thank you for a great year and go Hokies!

Yagsemash!
Im sorry if some of those numbers are skewed by me sitting at work being on the site all day haha. Also, appreciate the chance to use TKP as an outlet to express my love for Hokie football. The support for an Idiots Guide was overwhelming.
no doubt
Joe, do you track based on user account location, IP address or both? :)
Haha. I should have included in the post that the metrics are all from Google Analytics. They do what they do and serve up all that information to me. The site doesn't collect anything out of the ordinary, just basic logging of web traffic by the Apache server + Google Analytics. Also, all your registered information is kept private, it's not sold to spammers, marketing lists, etc...
great site
dedicated to the hokies .. great info, great humor, and a great outlet
NO, thank YOU, the key play
you are making tsl and their disney patrolling selfs more irrelevant with each passing day, and i love it.
thank you for being real and providing us hokies with the best website around.
2012
someone come at me on the six pick, goin for that threepeat
One of the best parts
I think one of the best parts about this site is that, because of how good it is, it doesn't require you to get an account just to read their posts. So you can flit through a few, decide if you like it, and then join. Smart.
2011
This website has helped me stay more involved and more educated about Hokies Football and CFB in general than any other year. I was more enthusiastic about Hokies Football this year as well. Keep up the hard work! Gotta give thanks to TKP.
Looking forward to 2012...I will relying more on TKP for post game analysis as my family will be missing the majority of games with a new addition to the family!
Thanks for a great season.
2012
YES! This is spectacular news. I'm glad to be a part of this community.
ALSO, having met a majority of the contributors in NOLA, I can say we're all a ridiculously fun bunch in real life, which I think says more than any metric can.
Thank Me?
No, Thank You! I have used that phrase quite a few other times with the Thank replaced by... well...take a guess. Anyway, the thanks goes to you for putting together a great site dedicated to the Hokies. If the site sucked, it would be filled with trolls and goblins and orcs, not smart and funny people that share the love of being a Hokie. Sadly I didn't see Seattle on the cities list, I am trying to change it. One problem is I wore my DWECFAOS shirt with TheKeyPlay.com logo for the regular season Clemson game and then shelved it. Weather permitting I will wear it early next season and get Seattle on TKP's radar.
registered just to respond to this
I just discovered TKP this season and without getting into why the other ones suck (with the exception of tech hoops) I gotta say it's the best VT site out there. It's cleverly written and people on the boards seem knowledgeable and friendly. I look forward to reading and chatting with y'all in the future.
Go Hokies
Not saying tech hoops is better that TKP it just doesnt suck like the others *cough cough tsl cough cough*
Orange Pants?
I can't believe my one photo from this summer showing off the orange pants became the most viewed story on the site this year. Thank you guys for all that you do, this site is great. Keep up the good work.

It almost broke our server. The next day I upgraded things.
pretty sure orange pants was the first post i saw. had been following lightly on twitter for a few weeks, but came to the site for the first time then. keep it rockin', joe. that was an awesome season!
THANKS JOE (AND EVERYONE ELSE)
Not only a great website and great read but an even better community. I've met some some great people through reading this site and look forward to keep rooting on the Hokies with them in the future!
Go Hokies!
