Brandon Facyson talking a big game!

What are some of your goals for your freshman season at Virginia Tech?
"I definitely want to start. I'm not looking to redshirt. If not starting, I wanna be a nickelback or something like that, but I definitely want some playing time. As a freshman, I wanna be all-conference and first-team and any other accolades I can get. I'm shooting for the highest, so I'm not looking to settle anywhere. I've just gotta stay hungry and grind every day."

Its great to hear a young guy shoot for the moon and have big goals. Shows confidence and determination.......but, I hope he isn't too discouraged if he doesn't meet those expectations! Theres a lot of talent in that backfield.

This guy reminds me A LOT of Antone Exum.

I love Virginia Tech, regardless of the outcome of every game.

I love hearing these things from our younger guys. that drive and determination should help him a lot in his career at tech

tyrod did it mikey! tyrod did it!

Gonna be tough

To beat out 4 future NFLers and Kyle Fuller but more power to the guy. We need some more tough confident SOBs on this team. Jonathan M said similar comments on his rivals interview. Lets get after it boys!

Rivals

Could just have been the way Rivals was setting them up. Although it isn't a bad thing for people to come in with confidence.

4 future NFLers and Kyle Fuller? Who are you referring to? I can see Exum and Kendall Fuller, could argue Kyle Fuller, but who else are you referring to??

Jarrett?

"I never surprise myself"

If Kyle's not the 4th, who is?

Exum, Kendall, Jarrett (I don't see it - don't get me wrong, he was one of our best defenders last year but he's too small for a NFL safety but I hope I'm wrong)... and who? No way Bonner has NFL potential based on what we've seen so far.

Jarrett will be NFL caliber

The kid has a nose for the ball and is a good hitter. Has great instincts and playmaking ability. Why he doesn't return more punts is beyond me.

Bonner is improving

I remember French showing us a recap of the Clemson game where Bonner was really good against the run. I attribute this to great coaching along with toughness on his part. The kid made some really good plays this year, but also some really bad ones. A year of maturity will help and I'll bet he has a good season in 2013.

Bonner has started to remind me of.....

another #8 at safety: Vincent Fuller.

I was looking at corners only as I don't see Facyson competing for Safety or any of the safeties moving back to corner. Still don't see who the fourth is if he is exluding Kyle from that group. Definitely isn't Manning or Tookes right now.

Yes jarrett will be playing on Sundays.

Remember he was only a true soph last year.

that's great for him to be so determined, as long as he's not the type who will transfer after his sophmore year if he isnt a starter.

I am excited about this guy

This guy has playmaking ability. I think he is underrated and will come in to prove a point. We need that in our locker room. Last year we didn't have as many motivated folks out there it seemed. His receiving ability and downfield blocking looks great. I am excited to see where he is at during spring ball.
