The VT Athletics Facebook account just shared an image about an hour ago announcing an interview coming up on Friday December 6th between Bill Roth and Whit Babcock on the House settlement. As far as I have seen there is nothing new on the House front at this point, the preliminary approval of the settlement plan was okayed back in October so I wonder what this will entail. Maybe an appeal for more support as finances are restructured? Maybe some announcements about what changes VT will need to make to accommodate House? I'm not very optimistic about the ability of CFB as we have come to love it at VT from 1995 onwards to continue. No broadcast or streaming details that I have seen so far but watch this space.

Should we be encouraged or furious?

Anyways, SZD/Steven Godfrey do a regular episode where he summarizes and brain dumps all the hot seat info he gets from agents, ADs, coaches, etc. From the most recent one (VT talk at 23:30):

Well, its that time of year again. We're going bowling!

So the obvious question is, where? Well, here's the current ACC lineup that we're going to be placed into. And I'm going to guess a lot of this has to do with how the ACC bids into the playoff plays out. There's still an outside (very remote) chance that Miami sneaks in as an at-large so we could potentially see anywhere from 1-3 ACC teams included, which means Tech could slot into a wide array of games depending on how the next week or so goes.

Anyway, here's the lineup. Where do you think we'll land?

Andrew Luck was named Stanford's Football GM earlier today:

Luck, 35, has accepted a newly created role at Stanford, which will place him above the entire program and is a distinct evolution from the traditional college general manager role. The hire could loom as a harbinger for structural changes in college football front offices across the sport.

Luck's role involves everything Stanford football touches, football-wise and business-wise. The football-specific duties will include managing the coaching staff, the player personnel staff, recruiting, roster management and the student-athlete experience.

Just to be clear, I fully hope we beat the crap out of UVA and go on to win our bowl game. And I am personally NOT in the "fire Pry now" camp. I think he's done some things very well, and has underperformed in other aspects of the job. I'd be inclined to give him another year, even with a loss to UVA.

But I'm curious how Likely TKP thinks it will be that he gets fired with a potential loss to UVA. After all, a 5-7 finish will be an undisputed step back from last year, and one of the bigger disappointments in college football in 2024. On top of that, it's not like there's a ton of young talent just waiting to step up in 2025.

So what's the % chance he's fired with a loss tonight?

Big XII all piled up at the top so they have some key rivalry games to decide who gets to Championship game. Hoping Arizona St and Iowa State win out so Colorado is left in the cold.

I refuse to let us become so despondent and whiny that we don't even have a hatin' on thread for UVA's coach. Get your shit together people. To paraphrase the late great R. Lee Ermey, you hate on UVA like old people fuck, do you know that?
