Scrimmage day y'all. We're so close.
Because we're all Sunday morning quarterbacks.

First thing that gets called out is a poor relationship between Ballein and Fuente.
I hope this justifies a new thread. Politicians....guess it was bound to happen.
Condoleezza Rice, George W. Bush Push for Stanford, SMU to ACC
My thoughts:
The B12 beat us to the punch on the most practical expansion candidates. Adding only 2 Western schools to the ACC is ridiculous. I see only one chance that ACC expansion could work, ASSUMING it would force a new TV contract:
What does everyone think about the AP Top 25?
I was surprised that there were 4 ACC Schools* in with FSU and Clemson at 9 and 10. *Notre Dame is at 13 and North Carolina at 21.
Kind of interesting how many PAC-12 schools are in with how they are disintegrating. They have 5 in.
Otherwise kind of business as usual.
This was from 8/11, so a lot of these tidbits have already circulated the medias. Here are my takeaways:
VT is currently in 2nd place in the 2023 USA Today poll for best college sports Tradition.
No way we should be losing to University of Wisconsin-Madison for 'Jump Around'. Vote once per day until polls close on Monday, August 21 at noon ET.

Texas-A&M-NIL-shutdown-by-IRS
The decision to shut down the 12th Man+ Fund came after the IRS released a memo on June 9, which told NIL collectives their function doesn't fit within the confines of tax-exempt status. The 12th Man+ Fund attempted to reward donors with athletic department points and tax benefits in exchange for donations to provide NIL compensation to athletes.
Quick roster note: VMI LB transfer Stone Snyder is no longer with the team, the #Hokies confirm. He wasn't at media day or practice Tuesday, termed "unavailable" at the time. Maybe even more important: The university would arrive at a reduced rate. Employing a rich donor base and a healthy desire to advance to the Power Four level, the university is open to forgoing conference distribution pay for its first several years in a new league. SMU officials held similar conversations with Pac-12 administrators.
That is a very interesting wrinkle that makes it a more tenable situation for current league members.
I noted Clements discussing using more simplistic zone schemes. Some of the Instagram footage from last week showed zone blocking drills, and I noticed the emphasis Ron Crook had on contact points, angles, and maintaining leg drive. On a rep with Kaden Moore, Moore kept his feet moving at contact (with very vocal encouragement from Coach Crook) and had to adjust to the movement of the defender to stay engaged.
I am trying it again. I just so happen to have the afternoon off and VT football blessed us with a live streamed Pry and Friends press conference scheduled for 12:45pm. VT football has completed 2 of their 5 scheduled "mini-camps" and should be getting a better idea of how the depth chart is shaping up for this Fall.
This guy on r/CFB has been ranking the best cfb teams of the last 40 years. His work is very thorough, highly recommend reading.
His intro for VT:
Did not see a current thread and wanted to ask for advice. I have not been to a game in many years; but I am thinking about going to the Pitt game this year.
First question: Is anyone going to have two tickets available?
Second question: Where is the best place to stay? VT is about a seven hour drive, so I may need two nights depending on game time.
Third question: If I buy tickets, where is the best section? I don't mind loud; but I don't want to have beer spilled on me and I don't want to be among a group of rowdy, obnoxious fans.
Thanks, in advance.
Edit to add: If you have tickets, you can contact me at my user name at hotmail.com.
ACC presidents were scheduled to meet tonight to further discuss the league's latest expansion plan, sources tell @YahooSports.Recent Big 12 acquisitions likely ended any Westward expansion plans. The bi-coastal league had been floated among media members for awhile, and apparently the ACC was actually considering it, but was late to the party.

And round and round the realignment carousel goes.
Have you had your fill of conference realignment, sneaker deal, and AI content? Good news, Fall Camp has started and we can actually start having off-the-rails conversations directly related to the football program.
As always my summary notes:
