Despite trusting in his ability to start for a football team in the NFL, Michael Vick continues to support embattled QB Geno Smith. Any football pundit can see that Vick is the better option. The JETS fans are beginning to feel the same way. JETS coach Ryan seems like a puppet who is supporting Geno simply because team management is forcing him to do so. Vick could have made the situation worse. Yet he is sitting on the bench like a quiet warrior waiting for his turn to prove his skills have not diminished despite being over 30. He understands that one man cannot make the Jets or any team better.
After seeing the running game explode with the young guns like Teller and Smith enter the game, do you guys think we could possibly see Searels trot out a different group of starters this week? I understand that they might not be as trustworthy in terms of assignments and reads, but that was the best I've seen us blow the opposing defense off the ball in a long time.
I have an inside source with the team (#SOURCES) that Josh Stanford plans to return after the bye week and play against Pitt. I don't know how much playing time he'll get after a leave of absence, but it'll be good to get some of the leadership back on the team.
EDIT: Wanted to clarify that he wanted to practice during the bye week and Pitt week so that he can play against Pitt.
And more Monday press conference notes.

New Depth Chart as of today.
RB's are - Juice, Trey, Sam Rogers, JC or Joel
Everything else loos the same. What is everyone's thought on pushing Wang to Center and Teller to LG? Seems to have worked well lately.
I see Slye is still kickoff but didn't Ludwig handle that this past week vs EMU?
Linked Chart below!
I'm having a hard time developing a take on this game because they are so good at scoring offense and so poor at scoring defense.
UNC Scoring D - 44 ppg
VT Scoring O - 29.8 ppg
VT Scoring D - 20.4 ppg
UNC Scoring O - 40.8 ppg
We seem to be inversions of one another.
For the first time I witnessed the early exit atrocity in lane. Admittedly I have not been able to get back to Lane Stadium as much as I'd like since graduation. However, at half time many alumni (well aged I might add) were absolutely appalled at how empty the stadium was at half time, specifically the NEZ and Student sections in the east stands. For the rest of the second half I had to endure constant talks of the disrespect and fair-weather mentality of the students in particular. (These are my observations of alumni, not my opinions)
The Giants absent David Wilson and still suspended Jayron Hosely obliterated the Redskins on Thursday night. Cousins certainly didnt look like Captain Kirk after his confidence got shot like a redshirted crewman.
They list Deangelo Hall as IR but there is no detail official on the injury yet from the NFL or from the Redskins. Im sure you can find a bunch of unofficial on it. So far, in 3 games, he had 16 tackles and forced fumble and a fumble recovery.

Hi everyone, the photo gallery from this weekend's Western Michigan game is up: http://photos.thekeyplay.com/Virginia-Tech-Football-2014/2014-VT-vs--Wes...
Enjoy!
(The local channels feed of the game was complete crap most of the game so I captured the E$PN3 feed instead for complete game and highlights videos. Eventually I will get a TV copy of the game and once I do, I will replace the E$PN3 videos with those.)

Bruce Feldman accurately predicted this in August (http://www.foxsports.com/college-football/story/10-bold-cfb-predictions-...).
5. Weis gets first axe
I would love to see us get under center a little more than a handful of plays a game. Handing the ball off from under center lets a running back get up to speed to hit the hole a lot harder. Plus, it makes it a tad harder for the LB to read.
I have to believe we don't do so because our Oline is just not up to par yet.
During the ACC coaches teleconference on Wednesday, Frank Beamer was asked a couple of questions about senior rover Kyshoen Jarrett.
Q. I wanted to ask you about Kyshoen Jarrett, obviously a guy who has a lot on his plate off the field, taking care of his brother. Where does he rank maturity wise amongst some of the players you've coached at Virginia Tech?
FRANK BEAMER: Well, you read the background, and those of us that know the background, very proud, understand what a sacrifice he's had to make over the years, and that's kind of the way you think about him, a guy that has been involved with his home life a lot and does a good job for us on the football field.
I have a friend behind the scenes on the team and early outlook is not good on shai, possibly a torn acl....good news is dadi is OK! But still hopes and prayers its just a sprain or something for shai!
After throwing 2 picks and for only 172 and 2 tds Brewer was benched late in the 4th for back up QB Mark Leal who handed the ball off for 35 yards and helped seal the win against WMU. When asked about the QB switch after the game Frank Beamer said "Leal was getting after the extremely short passing game in practice and we knew if Brewer struggled we could bring in Leal. We did and it worked out for the win today." \sarcasm
Thk you to @HokieVision team for their work & creativity w/ this video during 3Q #Shout #HorseOnaTreadmill #Hokies
