The Virginia Tech Hokies are not only winning on the field but also in the number of fan base. While many states are divided between universities, the Commonwealth of Virginia is united in the support of the Virginia Tech Hokies.
Go Hokies!

While watching the VT All Access and seeing the Fullers, my curiosity was piqued and I sought out how many sets of more than 3 brothers have reached the NFL as our Fullers no doubt will. The list I found is accurate through 2013. NFL brothers I'm calling conspiracy on the Nessers, Ted as the player/coach with 4 brothers on his team reeks of nepotism. In any case, assuming Kendall fulfills his obvious potential, our boys will be the second brotherly quartet to grace the modern NFL.
Former Hokie and Cardinals HC Bruce Arians is hopeful that Stanton or Palmer will be able to play but there is a good chance that neither will be ready. Arians said they have to get at least one full practice this week to play.
The Cardinals just signed former Oregon star Dennis Dixon to the practice squad. I'm assuming that is to provide some QB depth behind Thomas if neither Stanton nor Palmer can play.
Some of the fan forums I keep up with are not very confident that the passing game will do well this week due to how poorly the receivers played last Sunday (8 or 9 drops) and how poorly LT played (1 for 8 passing).
Is just finishing up on ESPNU but will replay again tonight at 11:30pm ESPNU for those that missed it.
Sorry if this was posted i will gladly drink if so
Last year the University of Virginia had a huge clock counting down the days they finally ended their losing streak against Virginia Tech. This year, the Cavaliers are 2-0 in the ACC and are quietly counting down the days they meet the Hokies again hoping the outcome will be different. With new faces on both sides of the ball and a new QG under center, the Hoos see it as a perfect opportunity to end the 10 years losing streak. Many ESPN analysts agree that this could be the year UVA defeats the Hokies at their own stadium. Like years past, Frank Beamer and his young team will have something to say about that.
Will Virginia break streak vs. Virginia Tech?
Here's a pretty interesting graphic depicting how schools make use of their recruiting classes. You can read the original post at Chart: Which NCAA Football Teams Outplay Their Recruit Rankings? or SBNation's take

What I'm hearing about the Gators, if true, doesn't sound good at all— Mark Long (@APMarkLong) October 6, 2014
AP Rankings since 2002, top four teams (end of regular season, before bowl games):
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Jimbo Fisher was adamant throughout the pre-draft evaluation process that he didn't believe EJ Manuel had the tools to be an NFL starter and he shouldn't be any better than a third-round pick. Of course Jimbo is now denying it, but was Jimbo giving a fair evaluation of EJ or throwing him under the bus since he was done playing for FSU?

The fans demanded it and yet the game is still not sold out? I really don't get it. this game should have sold out preseason.
...That the teams we lost to are now currently ranked #19 and #22 in the country? Or that we beat the #15 in the country on the road? Or that UVA's losses came to the #17 team and an unranked team (and their "big win" which they stormed the field for is against a team that's currently unranked).
Thoughts?
Stanton goes down, Thomas comes in. Lets see how he does in his first ever real NFL action.
With the Hokies on a bye week, it's a good time to keep track of the rest of the conference race. If we want to have a chance to play in Charlotte, we need GT to start losing.

Looks mostly the same across Virginia and DC. It looks like the only change is that the Roanoke/Blacksburg area gets the game on Fox 21/27 instead of WDBJ. I imagine it's due to CBS airing an SEC doubleheader starting at noon.
