Florida State Suspends Jameis Winston for Entire Clemson Game

Florida State announced a little after 11:00 PM last night that Jameis will miss the entire Clemson game. Below is the complete release from Interim President Garnett S. Stokes and Athletic Director Stan Wilcox.

Based upon the results of our continuing investigation of Tuesday's incident involving Jameis Winston, we have decided to not play him for the entire game against Clemson on Saturday night.

CNN's Rachel Nichols reported Winston hadn't been "entirely truthful" with FSU.

David Teel wrote a fun read yesterday about the 13 most memorable games he's seen in Lane Stadium: http://www.dailypress.com/sports/teel-blog/dp-teel-time-lane-stadium-50,....

Curious to hear which games everyone's been to, and which of his 13 is your most memorable.

Idea for Tailgating

I've posted in some other threads about some tough issues that have happened to my family this year, and one of the beautiful things that happened when I posted that my family was coming to the Miami game, and needed to be around the TKP family while tailgating, was that everyone said: Here's where we'll be, come hang with us!. We're happy to say that we have secured a parking pass for lot 9, so we'll be totally set to get together with a whole bunch of you all...

Vinny Cerrato's Pre-Draft Evaluation of Kyle Fuller is Hilarious

"The one negative about him going into the draft was he didn't want to hit anyone," said Vinny Cerrato, a former front office executive for the 49ers and Washington Redskins. "I thought he had great ball skills, great cover skills. He just wasn't a big tackler. He had all the skills. You saw that the other night."

OK, Vinny.

Miami (of 2001) talks about playing Virginia Tech

Interesting reading from the perspective of the Miami players when playing Virginia Tech. I remember watching that game, felt like a punch in the gut at the end. Some quotes:

Sikes: Virginia Tech is a tough breed. They're all of the step kids. Most of them are the kids nobody wanted. They didn't get to go to the big high school, they didn't get to go to the big college. So you put them all together...

Portis: You've got to put V-Tech away. From my experience against Virginia Tech you can't let them stick around, and expect them not to make a play. They did.

Random Thought

A couple days ago I saw that Stanford was taking a leave of absence. I first off want to say that if it is family related than I 100% agree that he should step away from the team. There is a big part of me that thinks he sees the writing on the wall. What happen to sticking with it and pushing yourself to get better and succeed? I see it too much now that people want to transfer or leave the team because some other guy just passed him on the depth chart. I know it will continue to happen but just want to know why people think the grass is greener on the other side.

Weekly Weather Report.....Chop Block O'Clock

I wont go into last week much aside from my deepest apologies on last weeks forecast for the lack of rainfall, a few minor things went wrong and it wound up missing/hitting us the night before. (In my defense, we actually did wind up getting .62" of rain for the day which is a good bit but I digress...) Weather can be fickle. I think that's the lesson we should take out of last week's rain (or lack-there-of).

But lets start over, both with our forecast and our football season. We're 0-0 in ACC play, so lets start this season off on the right foot! I come to you this week bringing new toys and all kinds of new data! So lets jump on in! Its time to get last week's taste out of our mouth with our annual game with 'da Bees!

GT Paul Johnson happy Logan Thomas is gone: is he not worried about Michael Brewer?

Johnson admitted that, "Logan Thomas was a tremendous athlete, and he probably through the years hurt us as much running as he did throwing," Johnson said. "He was a big, physical guy. Brewer is more of a typical, pro-style quarterback . . . they won't have a lot of designed runs for him.
