Niagara has losses to St. Bonnaventure 74-56, at Stonehill 65-50 and at Kent State 92-45. ESPN says the Hokies have 99% chance to win.
The starters will be #1 Chasity Wilson 5'7" Fresh G, #13 Talia Dial 5'10" Sr G, #2 Jordyn Williams 5'11" So. F, #23 Jada Rulledge 5'10" Sr. F and either #12 Caliana Fenceroy 5'5" Grad G or #6 Katarina Veljovic 5'11" Fresh G. Veljovic did not play against Kent State.
Wilson is scoring 14 ppg, Dial 9. The Purple Eagles have been outrebounded by 16 rebounds per game. They average 21.7 turnovers to 8.3 assists per game. Wilson averages 4 fouls per game, Veljovic 3.5, Williams 3.3, and Rutledge 3.0. The Hokies should shoot a lot of free throws tonight.
Niagara shoots 32.2% overall, 26.7% from three and 61% from the line. Not exactly an offensive juggernaut. They were 4 for 19 from three against Kent State and only attempt 15 threes per game on average.
Everyone should play tonight. And unless the Ladies forget how to shoot, this should be the last of the easy part of the schedule. The next game is Sunday against JMU; then they head to the Virgin Islands to play BYU and Vanderbilt or Oregon State. We'll finally get a chance to see them against real competition.
