WBB host Niagara Nov 20 at 6PM

The Ladies host 0-3 Niagara Purple Eagles today at 6PM in the Cassell. The game will be broadcast on ACCNx with PxP by Braden Schenck and analysis by Mack McCarthy. Evan Hughes and Liz Kitley will be on the VT Sports Network.

Niagara has losses to St. Bonnaventure 74-56, at Stonehill 65-50 and at Kent State 92-45. ESPN says the Hokies have 99% chance to win.

The starters will be #1 Chasity Wilson 5'7" Fresh G, #13 Talia Dial 5'10" Sr G, #2 Jordyn Williams 5'11" So. F, #23 Jada Rulledge 5'10" Sr. F and either #12 Caliana Fenceroy 5'5" Grad G or #6 Katarina Veljovic 5'11" Fresh G. Veljovic did not play against Kent State.

Wilson is scoring 14 ppg, Dial 9. The Purple Eagles have been outrebounded by 16 rebounds per game. They average 21.7 turnovers to 8.3 assists per game. Wilson averages 4 fouls per game, Veljovic 3.5, Williams 3.3, and Rutledge 3.0. The Hokies should shoot a lot of free throws tonight.

Niagara shoots 32.2% overall, 26.7% from three and 61% from the line. Not exactly an offensive juggernaut. They were 4 for 19 from three against Kent State and only attempt 15 threes per game on average.

Everyone should play tonight. And unless the Ladies forget how to shoot, this should be the last of the easy part of the schedule. The next game is Sunday against JMU; then they head to the Virgin Islands to play BYU and Vanderbilt or Oregon State. We'll finally get a chance to see them against real competition.

Just go to hokiesports.com, click on sports, click on women's basketball schedule and click on listen. Works for me every game I can't see.

Ladies win 83-46. All but Trent and Brecelj played at least ten minutes. Brecelj was only one that didnt score. Wenzel was only starter not in double digits as she was scoreless in second half. Suffren had 13 off the bench.

Keeping the legs fresh, even though just 5 games.

Baker with 28.6 mpg, Wenzel with 27.6, Nelson with 24.4, Freelon with 23.4 (and one less game), Suffren with 21.6, Daley with 20.6, Petersen with 18.8, Wells with 15.2, Swanson at 10.7 (and one less game), Trent at 9.86 (and one less game)

JMU has had twice as many players eclipse 150 minutes played.

JMU is 3-3. All three losses are by double-digits. As are all three wins. The bench plays a ton of minutes but only putting up 18 points per game. 68.5 minutes out of 200. Five players averaging more than 2.3 fouls per game. Duke's are pretty sloppy with the basketball. In yhe loss to Texas they turned the ball over on 31% of their possessions. Texas beat them by 39. Extreme case against a Top 5 team but the other two losses were very similar.

I was always baffled by Kenny Brooks basically only playing 7 the whole season then looking surprised when foul trouble cost us a game.

Plan for the worst and hope for the best, not the other way around.

I love watching the bench players get good time.

Brecelj looks the part, and seemed to be pulling down rebounds & moving the ball forward. Excited to see all these players develop.

-What we do is, if we need that extra push, you know what we do? -Put it up to fully dipped? -Fully dipped. Exactly. It's dork magic.

Freelon is so good

Danny is always open

The bench getting so much time really helps as the season grinds toward the end.
Less injuries from overuse and when a starter ends up out for the rest of the season, the replacement has had the court time.

This is going to be great for the ACC.
