His scholarship status is unclear, but he appears to be eligible to play right away. Me too. Something went off track for him last year, homesickness or whatever, and it seemed to impact his production drastically. I wouldn't be surprised to see him have a very successful career.
Just look at the TD from Miami two years ago. That was awesome
It's a much different situation. With Corey, we got an above-average yet inexperienced WR at a time when the cupboard was quite bare. With Stanford, we lost a proven above-average WR at a time when we have a few more guys to lean on.
Of course, Corey went on to the NFL and made an impact at a time when the Lion's receiving corp was reduced by injuries, including one game-winning TD grab.
If i remember correctly, Corey didn't actually play football at Kansas, he ran track. Then transferred to Tech and played football.

Does anyone know what happened with him? I mean if you're unhappy, you have to make changes and I get that. It is confusing as to how Kansas will be any different. I liked his game and its a shame he didn't pan out here.

Yeah, I'm completely confused. I knew he hated Blacksburg because he thought it was backwoods or something like that. I don't see how Kansas is better. Not to mention, as I said below, I thought part of his leaving the team was to focus on his music. Is Kansas football somehow less demanding?

Lawrence is only about a half hour or so from Kansas City. It's not Manhattan (NYC), but it's much closer to an urban area if that floats your boat.
Lawrence is also a nice college town, not unlike Blacksburg. And probably hillier...believe it or not.
Kansas City is actually a really cool town - great food, shopping, has pro teams, good looking women, etc. Granted, I live in Des Moines, Iowa, so it is the closest big city to me.
KCMO is awesome. I live about 40 min from downtown KC. We love it. Some much good food, bbq, craft beers, sports and eye candy. Only that sucks about KC is the winter. It gets balls cold out here. Other than that I love the area.
I lived in KCMO for 5 years. Great place. Highly recommended.

I am too. I think the only way it would be possible is if he got his degree from Tech, and I'm unsure if he did.

He already used a medical hardship waiver, his freshman year.
Don't see how he should be eligible without sitting out a year, unless he graduated.
He moved even farther from home so I can't see that being the case.
Maybe a hardship waiver since he is moving to such a shitty football team? Then again, he could have stayed in state and transferred to UVa if that was the case (and the ACC waived the 2-year in-conference transfer rule).

He got a degree, so he's a graduate transfer and can play immediately. Currently a walk-on, but can be awarded a scholarship that counts against next year's numbers.
