I finally watched the whole game last night. It's clear that this team is better conditioned this year, but is still very rough around the edges in technique. As long as the defense limits big plays, we have a chance in every game.
It's clear this team is playing with something to prove, too. Last year's team folds under the pressure and loses this game. This year, it's been ugly, but there was no "give up" on their faces like I saw all over faces last year.
Caption this: "Hokie, Hokie, Hokie, Hi...Steppin'!"
Caption: No. It's not Heisman- but what chy'all think?
I laughed
Oops, forgot I wasn't supposed to be funny in the morning. I hope no one chokes on their Cheerios today!
Glad you liked it.
Dang, beat me to it. I was thinking something along the same lines. (Read: I was sifting through images of our tuba players to photoshop him into)
Great minds think alike.
Do it.
Decided to go another direction. Workin on somethin right now that I think y'all will like.
"Rogaine" and the caption on the picture of Bud had me rolling. Well played, Dozer.
And we have a winner
You got a knack for this, Wartooth.

I'm sure he's not being offensive considering it's a well known line in a movie.
All hail the GIF
Good lord I love Ken Jeong
This is exactly what I meant, I can't embed the whole gif thing because our int sucks over here. Wasn't trying to be offensive to anybody. That shit is funny as all get out. Leslie chow mother fucker!
SETS TEAMMATE UP FOR INTERCEPTION

FRESHMAN HAZING AT DBU
this gif didn't make the initial cut, but hey, I'm not one to waste a good gif:
BIG BROTHER PROTECTION

He was afraid his mom would yell at him if he didn't. That would be my motivation anyway.
I thought they were about to go all cajun on him and make some gator bites...
Honestly, this kind of thing makes me really happy. I know Kyle comes swooping in at the end to rightfully defend his brother, and was probably about an inch away from leveling Gator, but notice who the first two are right up in his face? Bonner and Jarrett. When teammates have each others' backs and will go to bat for their own, that's the kind of mentality that I like.
Can't believe that ref was RIGHT THERE for the punch and didn't eject Hoskins.
Eh, it was more of a slap, but yeah I was disappointed in that too.
That pissed me off. A lot. I don't care if it was a punch, slap, shove, or love tap, if it's to the face/head/neck, your ass should be gone.
I think one punch/slap etc. should be a personal foul and no more, I don't think that you should be ejecting players unless they're striking repeatedly or come running from halfway across the field after the play to take a shot at someone.
I guess I'm just of the opinion that any action that would get you arrested on the street should probably merit ejection. If I recall, the rules do specify for ejection in the case of throwing a punch, but maybe I'm wrong. Football is physical and aggressive, and that's why we love it, but it shouldn't devolve into true violence.
Did you see the one punch in the Clemson/NC State game? Hard to keep your argument legit with that kind of uppercut first swing. That said, I am tired of the sissifying stuff that keeps plaguing football and I don't think enough is left to the ref's discretion so that a punch like Gator's is a penalty and the Clemson punch leads to a multigame mandatory suspension (Clemson only suspended him for one game).
http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/9710015/clemson-tigers-su...
I would kill to know exactly what the NC State cornerback said to get that reaction though.
It was a similar uppercut that lost Woody Hayes his job @tOSU in the Gator Bowl....strangely enough, he landed it on a Clemson player.
Circle of life.
That's kinda like when Blount knocked that Boise guy out (that was a hell of a punch). That Boise player must've said something, people don't just walk up to other players after the game and hit them square in the face.
I guess to clarify, I wouldn't think ejection is warranted for a slap that comes in the heat of the moment during or just after play. I probably wouldn't have ejected Attaochu in the GT game a couple years ago, I think the 15 yard Unnecessary Roughness penalty was about right for that particular incident. Overall I think that ejections should only be for particularly egregious fouls and repeat offenders.
I just looked through the Hokie Sports roster pages to see if they had maybe pulled another one of our players pictures and put it up instead of Kendal. I think it might be Joshua Stanford, at least he's the person on the roster that looks the most like the Fake Kendal. I also learned a couple other things. First Jack Tyler and Chase Williams could easily pass for brothers, possibly even twins. The other is that Brent Benedict must have an "S" under his pads, during summer workouts he posted a 40050-pound front squat
No, that's legit man. How else do you think he beat out Gibson to play tackle?
I do agree, you learn quite a bit from the bios on Hokie Sports, even if it wasn't the stuff you were originally going there to find.
Someone should tell Brandon Facyson on his instagram page to check this thread out! Haha.
I really wish he'd make a twitter. I tried to compliment his closing speed by telling him I'd be wearing #31 at my flag football game a couple nights ago, as I play corner. But he's not on there. :( However, I did have a sack, never gave up a short route, and got burned on a double-move. So I think I channeled my inner Facyson pretty darn well.
