I think there's a major gap between our current oline play and Bama's. I like Grimes a lot, but I'm not sure he's a miracle worker. That said, I do think we could get closer to that, and develop a similar mauling mentality and be much improved.

Yes, that is exactly what I'm trying to say. The margin of error is so huge either way, that you can't really rely on them at all aside from "he runs less than 5s, but more than 4s" which generally covers most of the faster skill guys on the team. The only way to really judge a guy's speed, IMO, is to watch them play.

I admit it is possible that Edmunds is just as fast as Coleman, but I'd want to see it on the field before I believe it. Coleman is pretty freaking fast.

Who is Pitt, Cuse and Louisville? I think Notre Dame should be Professor Hubert J. Farnsworth from Futurama - almost sorta belongs with the rest, but not quite, plus he's old as crap and living in the past.

All 40 times need to be taken with a major grain of salt. These are hand-timed. If your timer is a half second too slow to start your timer, your time is suddenly world-class. If he he's a half-second too slow to stop it, your time is terrible. Thinking something hand-timed is accurate to 100ths of a second is absurd.

Thank you! This is exactly what I was saying. I think Holmes needs another chance, and he could very easily be the next Darren Evans. We just need to play to his strengths and not his weaknesses more.

It all depends on who the new coaches like, honestly. It shouldn't shock any of us if Holmes ends up being a stud this year now that we've ditched the East-West pistol from last year. He very easily could be the next Darren Evans (garauntee you Evans would have struggled as an East-West guy). I know everyone is going to be clamoring to see Edmunds, just because the backup is the most popular player on the roster, but I think that all bets are off with the new staff coming in (personally). Again, I'm not trying to poo-poo Edmunds, the guy sounds like a beast. I've just never seen him run, so I can't judge wether or not I want him being the #1 back.

So, just going off what I do know (and assuming the running game will be more North-South this year), I'd give it to Holmes, with J.C. as the change-of-pace back, and reserve the right to change it should Edmunds tear ass in the Spring Game.

100% due to salary cap space. Need more secondary players, not fewer. And he left no dead space on the cap. Had to be done...

My cousin, who is a Terp, came into town for that game. The walk back to Foxridge afterwards was fantastic.

How about Logan up the gut for the win against Miami on 4th down in 2011 (followed by Enter Sandman and Al Golden crapping his pants)? I know it's no Tyrod-Coale, but that was pretty fantastic.

Was it Michigan who had the Yellow-on-White numbers last year? It was terrible. I feel like this rule was put in place to curb that.

I feel like if they only reserve this for really flagrant, obviously intentional hits to knock out opposing skill position players, it's ok. For instance, in the NFL, you sometimes see defenders hit a qb, knowing that they will draw a 15 yard penalty, but figuring the chance to knock that player out of the game is worth the penalty.

For instance, here's Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie literally attempting to decapitate RGIII last season:
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/11/18/dominique-rodgers-cromartie-rg3...

Cromartie leads with his helmet, and launches himself at RGIIIs head. Had this hit not missed, it could have seriously injured the offensive player, and was clearly intentional. I would have no problem with this type of hit warrenting an ejection.

Now, a bang-bang play, in which a reciever streaking across the middle catches a pass and lowers his head, I think it'd be criminal to start ejecting players. This rule is a fine idea if it's used in moderation. If we see it used as much as once per game, it would be a disaster.

You're forgetting that geography might not be that important. Big 12 makes way more money than the ACC right now, because their marquee teams havent been slumping for the past decade. Plus, no way Texas leaves the Big 12 unless the conference is completely collapsing. They get too sweet of a deal there and rule the roost.

I'd say the ACC falling apart is just as likely as the Big 12 getting cannibalized, unfortunately.

I guess that's good news for us, should push come to shove. I think I'm in the minority, but I still hope that doesn't happen. I like being in the ACC, I like whooping UVA every year, I like playing the Canes yearly, and I like being able to drive to get to a fair number of away games.

Perhaps it sucked because Evans was far and away the best rb on the roster at that point and he wasn't playing much?

I'm hoping we are the Walking Dead, because I'm pretty sure that would make Saban the Governor, and if I had to bet, that guy and his army of followers is getting wiped out by the plucky underdogs in the next couple of months.

I completely agree. I am stoked he came back. That said, I hope he is more accurate than he was last year, for whatever reason. Remember O'Cain hilariously blaming his poor mechanics on that trainer he had worked out with over the summer?

Now I'm not sure if receivers were to blame, a lack of trust in the o-line was thr problem, the staff's 'mastery' of the pistol (I think they spent as many minutes learning it as UVA had fans at their spring game), or if it was just lapses in concentration. But whatever was the root of it, I sincerely hope it's fixed.

I'd like to see Logan hitting receivers in stride. If he struggles with his mechanics in the spring, I'll be worried.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but jeeze. What a stick in the mud. "Fun inconveniences me! Traffic being slow for one day makes my life harder!"

I think voting down something percieved as racist or inappropriate falls well within the guidelines, but that's just me.
