That'd be my pick as well. Shall we put the over/under at 27?
Easy tiger, it was a joke.
Judging by the number of investigators leaving the NCAA enforcement office, I doubt anything could come of this, even if it is a minor violation...
I thought about VT being Michael - we held it together for years while the rest of the conference embarrassed itself.
Anybody here have any insight other than the rivals/247 predictions?

# | Just a reminder to everyone to not waste your money on anything Sporting News-related. It must be really hard to win an ACC division that lacked a ranked team for much of the year with Butch Davis' recruits. I'm not sure how he did it.
According to the preview, Duke had a fair amount of turnover on offense. But I agree - I'm not sure Marshall will be all that much higher.
Well, they're our 2 weakest FBS opponents... And to be fair, most conferences have had 2 bottom feeders already.
Kansas and Iowa St are lower than BC and Duke (respectively). Ditto for Illinois and Purdue. Pac-12 had Colorado (worse than BC), and then both Cal and Washington St below Duke. Kentucky has made an appearance... The 80s isn't a terrible spot for a bad team. The ACC's problem isn't a lot of bad teams. It's the lack of dominant top-5 teams.
Smells like Wahoo tears, aged in oak barrels for 8.5 years. #decadeofdominance
his ass is everywhere
Also, a Mr F for Arrested Development fans...
But that's the problem - that's not what ends up happening. We play UVA with those Orange helmets on all white. I never understand it.
No thank you. I hate when we wear Orange - we always look like Clemson or some other team. It took me a second to figure out which team we were last year in the UVA game. That should never happen. Ever
I imagine it has more to do with wanting to stay close to home. The kid's from Durham, after all. I didn't feel that way when I went to school, but I can understand it. No hard feelings here. I think we'll be just fine.

# | Bitter blog - An admittedly impractical suggestion for solving the ACC’s football scheduling problem I always figured that you'd have to do a 4-team playoff to make the 16-team 4-team pods thing work. Otherwise teams stuck in a tougher pod get screwed
I'm really not too concerned with what we wear, provided we never wear those orange helmets again. Especially not against UVA (or other, similarly colored schools... Syracuse, Clemson etc). Is that really too much to ask?
Ooooooooh. My bad. I just assumed he was really confused or possibly trolling.
I was wondering how long I'd have to go before someone said this... It basically consumed my entire 6th-8th grade
I think that for me, a rivalry would be defined as the games that take on a special importance regardless of the standings or season. UVA might be a bottom feeder sometimes, but beating them is still far more important to me than beating someone like Duke or Wake Forest. From an objective position, the games count exactly the same, but the UVA game is far more important to me. The same holds true for Miami.
Results on the field can LEAD to rivalries, but I don't think they define them. That's why I don't consider Clemson a rival, or GT. If they sucked and we beat them, we wouldn't care. If we sucked and they beat us, they wouldn't care.
I consider Miami a rival. I hate those guys, and want to beat them more than any team that isn't UVA. Maybe that's just me, but I thought it was the consensus.
Yup. That's the one :)
I completely agree. If I were him, I'd want to be on a team with either:
a) A strong disciplinarian head coach
or
b) an established qb who is going to expect a lot out of his recievers, and will work with them heavily (a la Peyton Manning)
The Giants definitely have one, and maybe 2. Jets have neither.
I'd write a letter to Mel Kiper, and be sure to tape some money to the back. A couple quarters and a nickle should suffice.
Your other option would be to hang out at the ESPN headquarters and "build buzz" around the water cooler.

# | i came across a list of people banned from vt's campus and jahre cheesman is one of them? Backup rb a few years back. If my memory serves me correctly he, and a few other backs were competing for playing time before Darren Evans siezed the position in '08. Then he got hurt, and had a couple of bizarre situations occur before leaving football all together. Or at least VT football.

Well, if you're going to pay players, you certainly would have to give some more than others - no way a member on the swim team gets anything close to what a football player does...
It's certainly something to keep an eye on. I'm curious to see what happens, because this could be a big deal.
