We're talking about the first pick, right? It was 4th down though, so an incompletion would be the same as a turnover. Doesn't that change the math a little bit?
Wow. That is stunning. If you figure a team plays 2-3 gimme games a year, that means he wants to go .500 against the real schedule. Talk about ambitious.
And yet, with the bar that low, London still can't reach it 2/3 years...
He's so graceful. Like a bird or something.
Yeah, it was just a terrible throw and the reciever fell down, so the ref seemed to assume that Jayron had interfered. I think the Coale catch was more like a culmination of all the crappy calls all game though.
I still think Ike should hold far more blame in that whole mess than Glennon. Glennon wasn't suppossed to start. He was just suppossed to backup Ike, who was suppossed to be Marcus' heir. Unfortunately, Ike couldn't learn the playbook/stay out of trouble and Glennon had to step in. Not his fault 2 starting qbs ahead of him washed out.
If Ike had lived up to his billing, we would have gone seamlessly from Marcus, to Ike, to Tyrod (who would have redshirted).
Willie Lyles traces back to LSU as well, right? If it's sticking to Oregon, maybe it'll stick there...
Haha, vaguely, but it's been a few years. I can't offer much more than my sympthy.
I remember experimental methods! I'm so sorry...
I'd say poor scheme and blocking had about as much to do with a lack of running game, personally. It didn't matter if you left one back in - they aren't getting into a rhythm in a 3-and-out...
Jeeze, thanks for making me feel bad...
Thank you. So much
Bitch, by Meredith Brooks maybe? Or maybe take it in a different direction with something like Millionaire Waltz by Queen. It's certainly effiminent, and everytime he says "I want to share it with you" cut to a terrible UVA turnover...
I've always thought Foxy Shazam's "unstoppable" would make for a pretty sweet montage. Maybe do cuts of beefy running plays and players taking the field and stuff during the verses, and then cut to awesome long bombs and kickoff returns and stuff like that during the chorus...
I think we need to take a breath and let all this play out. It's not like there are multiple sources this is stemming from, or anyone willing to say anything on camera or in court or anything right now. It could be sensationalism (although there's certainly been a fair amount of smoke around that team, so a fire really wouldn't shock me either). Lets wait and see.

# | GAME ON: Grimes on Interior OL Competition This Spring (credit to Andy Bitter) I don't think it's either, really. I think he's just saying that everybody's spot is up for grabs, with open competition across the board.
But I still say there's a big difference between #100 in basketball and #100 in football. That's why we divide the divisions. Because of the necessary roster sizes and costs of fielding a football, the little guys can't keep up like they can in basketball. There's far less parity in football because of it. That's why Appy St-Michigan and JMU-Vt are such big deals.
Anyway, I guess we clearly aren't going to come to a consensus here, so we'll just have to agree to disagree.
I think we can still agree that the 97th best football team and the 97th best basketball team are far different animals. Id' say that FGCU upsetting Georgetown is more like some team unranked, but still a contender upsetting a top-10 team. The 97th best football school is a basement dweller. Like Duke pre-Cutliff bad. It's just not the same. Is it an upset? Of course. But it's just that. Not "the worst loss in program history" bad.
There are 347 division 1 mens basketball teams. Being in the top 100 still puts you in the top third of the country. There were at the time of the JMU game there were 120 FBS teams (121 if you count JMU for this comparison).
94th out of 347 teams is not nearly the same as 97th out of 121 teams. I'm sorry, there's just no comparison here. And that's not even taking into account the fact that FGCU just tore through another tourney team.
No, because they are still regarded as one of the top 68 teams in the nation. How long they've been playing is irrelevant. I don't think anyone would argue that JMU was one of the 68 best football teams in the nation. I don't think it would be considered one of the top 136 teams in the nation that year. I'm sorry, it was a painful day for me too, but it was a different order of magnitude in terms of crappiness.
Not nearly as bad as that. Sure, they've been losing to double-digit seeds, but these are all tourney teams. We lost to an FCS school. Totally different ball park.
I still think Holmes oculd be a decent rb if he wasn't hamstrung by all that E-W running he was doing last year. Perhaps get him in a better scheme and he'll be more successful. It's a shame the fanbase has completely given up on him.
Please. This needs to exist!
Can't hurt, right?
Awesome! Thanks for the scoop.

Oof. Can't say it's surprising, though
