Looking at our history vs Pitt (I never feel good about a game vs Pitt), one thing that jumped out at me:
Aside from our two most recent meetings with Pitt, when we were both unranked in the 9 matchups before that (1997-2013), we were ranked in every matchup, Pitt was unranked in every matchup, except one.
2013: 24/NR W, 19-9
2012: 13/NR L, 17-35
2003: 5/25 L, 28-31
2002: 3/NR L, 21-28
2001: 12/NR L, 7-38
2000: 2/NR W, 37-34
1999: 3/NR W, 30-17
1998: 21/NR W, 27-7
1997: 19/NR L, 23-30
4-5 in that span.
And I knew it felt like Pitt always had our number, but I didn't realize just how bad. Didn't realize it until looking at these stats just now that we have only beaten Pitt once since I enrolled at VT in 2001.
That being said, Go Hokies! Fuck Pitt!

# | GIFTORY: Frame-by-Frame Highlight Reel of Virginia Tech's 37-16 Thumping of Miami I was definitely nervous. Looking at the replay, I think it is one of those that could be justified as a no call, or could also be justified if a flag was thrown. We benefited from the refs judgement on that one.
