Yeah, no, clarification time. I don't care if you watch the games. I watched very few of our 2014-2015 games for all the reasons you're citing. I'm talking more about the people (and there are plenty of them) that are talking about pulling financial support over this season.
Yeah, I mean, keep in mind being one of the best VT lines we've seen isn't a very high bar. But OL is right up there with WR as one area I think we're heading in the right direction.
Wait a minute. Vice? This is the best OL we've had in years, and the OL has improved every year he's been here.
I still do not get the vibe this team has quit. They're just in too far over their heads. It's easy to say, "It's November, we should see improvement." But there's no controlling when the game slows down for a player. It might not be until next season. For some of these freshman, it may not be at all. We're not just young. We're young with a lot of position changes. We're bad because of inexperience, but also because we've got some players at positions they have no business playing. And yet I still don't see these players giving up. They're out of position, they're taking bad angles, they're confusing spill and force calls, but I see effort every down.
We suck. That isn't the same as quitting.
If we bail on the team when they suck, the last hope I had that Hokie Nation was somehow a different and special fanbase when compared to the average college football fan will finally be killed. Checking out because of the first losing season in 25 years?
Bye, Felicia.
I see this get thrown around a lot, but I have a sneaking suspicion it might be like our record against top 5 teams: it gets thrown around to make a point, but when taken in context with other team's performance, we're actually not particularly out of line.
How does the rest of the ACC perform offensively against P5 competition? For that matter, how does all of the P5 do against P5 competition? Without that context, I don't know what to do with this data.
Didn't Whit say a couple years ago, given his preference, 3:30 would be when our games would kick? It's just coming to fruition.
Have we considered not playing our games in a wet paper bag?
Goddammit, that means he's most likely gone for the start of next season.
Yeah, but Willis won't step up in a collapsing pocket and make a throw. He took sacks today he didn't need to. I don't know if it's still timidity over the hit he took last week, or if that's just part of his game, but I was cursing every time a DE got behind him (but was still engaged with a blocker) and Willis just took off.
I want you guys to know I love y'all. For real. This community is awesome, and we're all enduring the same bad season together.
I thought the play calling was suspect.
I can hear this gif.

Saban has the consistency of Frank Beamer at the highest level of college football. Also, Saban is the reason Alabama recruits like that. They weren't routinely picking up 5 star recruits under Mike DuBose.
Did Willis's reads get worse after he took the big hit?
Given the number of times I've seen Willis pass up an open receiver to throw to a double covered Hazelton, it doesn't seem to be as simple for him as you're making it out to be.

I think you're interpreting this wrong. Fuente isn't saying he isn't culpable for execution issues. He's correcting a misdiagnosis. People are saying we're struggling offensively because of poor play calling. Fuente is saying the play calling isn't any more of an issue now than it was at Memphis or in 2016. The problem is bad reads and bad technique are preventing the offense from taking advantages of mismatches we're trying to exploit. That's the problem that needs to be solved.
More than playcalling issues, to me this illustrates just how little trust the staff really has in Willis. It's pure conjecture, but I just can't see Corn not testing the outside against two deep safeties if JJ was behind center. We might be in a mindset of putting Willis in position to make the fewest mistakes, even if that means not taking advantage of some opportunities.
Somebody needs to work some Photoshop magic on that first gif.
Top vote getter by a margin of more than 10k votes. Impressive.

I pay money so French can make me smart.
This makes me realize a glossary of terms for French's reviews world be a good addition to the site. Kind of like the list of inside jokes and memes we use, but actually productive in some way.

Dead on. It's time for the curtain to come down from around the program.
