The argument remains (though slightly modified) that this is also not a shade of purple, because it has a G value > 0. Purple is an intermediate color between red (255,0,0) and violet (127,0,255). Any shade between those two has to have a G value of 0.
However, given that our official color has a R and B value with a very low G value, I guess I could see how someone might interpret it as purplish.

This is just dumb. The school's official shade of maroon has an RGB value of 102,0,0. Purple is an intermediate color between red and violet, meaning any shade of purple must contain a value > 0 in blue. Maroon is inarguably a shade of red.

I somewhat take exception with the "false-craft" label. Case in point, Goose Island in Chicago. ABI bought them out, everyone lost their shit, Chicagoans rebelled against the company (contributing to the lightning-quick ascension of Revolution as THE craft brewery in Chicago), and ultimately...Goose Island didn't change in any noticable way. They're still making the world famous Bourbon County Stout, still making the excellent Sophia and Matilda, and Honkers Ale and 312 remains a great basic introduction to the APA and unfiltered wheat ale styles, respectively.
Sure, it sucks that Goose Island's profits are funneled into ABI's corporate machine, but corporate takeover has happened with literally every other American industry. That's probably not a discussion we want to have on here, as it will invariably lead to TOS violations.
