Zeroes in 3rd.
So one interesting piece of his contract is his bonus structure around television viewership. First place ranking in ACC gets him $800K. That honestly is a super deal for the Hokies. The new ACC Viewership portion would mean if Franklin has us #1 for four years in a row, the Hokies would pay him an additional $3.2M but the school should receive almost $40M over that timeline if it happens. There are bonuses for each of the top five spots in ACC viewership each year for Franklin.
Depends on if Pitt gets ranked this week after beating Georgia Tech. If they beat Miami too, then it will be a toss up on Pitt or UVA if they both win next week. SMU by beating Louisville may also move into the rankings this week as they were #28 SMU and #30 Louisville by the Receiving Votes from last week.
It gets really convoluted if we beat UVA, Miami beats Pitt and SMU loses to Cal. There would be five ACC teams with two conference losses and Miami might be the only ranked team left in that scenario.
I'm not sure how many of those plays Pop would have survived.
Drones is an energizer bunny. Pop is a good changeup option, but I wouldn't bet on him surviving a game of being pummeled four quarters.
Not only that but didnt flag Miami for facemask on Ayden Greene as he got the first down. We should have gotten a first down from that regardless of the inadvertent whistle which would have given us a first down at the Miami 38.
huge 3rd down conversion but the ref staring right at the QB whistled his knee down π€¬ pic.twitter.com/Gz2ZTEsdwlβ Warren Sharp (@SharpFootball) November 22, 2025
We are a 7 point dog. When adjusting for home field means maybe UVA is a 3/4 point favorite... Vegas does not concur with your analysis. I see the line creeping down bringing this to a near pick 'em when adjusting for home field "advantage" by game time.
Sure, but they hired some mercenary players. They got some decent pay-for-play talent.
I think they slapped a VT logo on his away uniform for his high school team. The Woodberry Forest home uniform is a more basic concept of our Pro combat uniform.

The point for Pry is that he can say for his next job that his salary was 2 million and ask for more. The point for us is we can take it out of the current coaching staff budget.
A mid roster is still light-years better than ours

Let's be clear, Pop stayed on his feet long enough for three offensive lineman to push the pile into the endzone while being stood up by Miami defenders. As soon as he made contact the right guard has Pop in a bear hug from behind and is driving it forward.
Pop Watson III comes in the game and makes an incredible pass on 4th down, then gets the TD run. pic.twitter.com/8wmbGj0CHeβ NCAAF Nation (@NCAAFNation247) November 22, 2025
Yea that's what I meant. What's the point of dropping $2 million on salary for him if he's getting the buyout money no matter what? Are we really that badly off that we need to save that money? I think we should utilize the staff poll for the best staff possible.
....and had a game ending turnover when there was at least a chance to get back in. Down ten, in Miami territory with 2:06 to play with two minute timeout and two timeouts remaining.
Did you see when Pop dragged three Miami defenders into the end zone?
Getting up for this game for any season shouldn't be a problem. This year, however, we have a chance to wreck some conference championship and CFP aspirations. Its going to take a lot of dominoes to keep them out, but we only control what we can control. Beat UVA and they drop far enough down the polls (or out entirely) and it wont matter if they sneak into the ACCCG - no win there could recover from losing to Tech.
