Drones also had 3+ first down runs that Pop has 0 chance to convert. Drones is playing hard still I absolutely hate him as a QB but he give us a better chance to win than Pop in the option offense we're running.
And yes Drones has bone head plays. Running Ob but he didn't know that defender was that close until he put his hand on him. Not pitching the first down conversion probably netted in less yards but he still got the first down. His reads are bad...but let's remember Pop has run into blocked defenders in wide open space twice this season. I don't see anything that says he's any better of a decision maker
I'm never against on purpose scheduling garbage games past week 1. I get the strategy but it's stupid and only works in your favor if the media backs you.

Smaller salary increases the assistant pool money for other coaches, but it is not a major advantage for VT to go as low as possible. Ultimately the salary and buyout are on the same balance sheet. And underpayment sets up for awkward situation when the buyout ends. For example, if he goes from $500K during the buyout years to $1.5M after and the assistant pool remains fixed, where does that $1M come from?

And the despite the stupidity of the inadvertent whistle, Drones ran straight backwards while being pursued and didn't even deserve that bailout. Put Pop in and run the triple option against UVA

Its honestly a great idea though from the SEC perspective. Get all your teams locked in to playoff spots early and just move up when the other conferences commit fratricide too late to recover. Most really good teams shouldnt need 4 OOC games to start the year to get ready for conference play. Especially since by this weekend most student bodies have gone home.

2. Med tent choice shouldnt have been an option
Most guys at that level given the choice are going to be gamers, even if its not well thought out.

If we end up with Franklin and spoiling the boohoos ACC CG and slim playoff chances, this will be the best possible outcome for a non-bowl season

Guess we'll see if he's in concussion protocol this week ahead of UVA? Hopefully it's nothing major and they just decided to sit him the rest of an out of hand game.
