Moorhead was wildly successful as OC at PSU and was part of their only big ten championship recently.
But he also had trace mcsorely, saquon Barkley, and a decent receiving corps. He left when those guys left.
After that he was unsuccessful at Mississippi State and Oregon, now ending a losing season at Akron
I'm not hanging my hat on his two good years at Penn State being indicative if his regular production.
Would love to have pry on staff but not really as a DC unless there aren't better options. Talking to people up here there are mixed feelings about whether Rahne is actually good or not.
If we hire Rahne I hope he somehow finds himself stuck in an elevator on his first day.
Richard Johnson on split zone duo pretty heavily implied that we could have an offensive coordinator already signed by the end of the weekend (if not by game time) once their season "in Akron Ohio" has wrapped up. Not sure if he's just guessing because of past relationships or if he's strongly hinting at an agreement between Franklin and Joe Moorhead.
I just would struggle to see Pry coming back in a high-level staff role this soon. I could see an analyst or off field support role, but what if he comes back as DC this year and the defense struggles? That's going to create some issues.
But I mean on the other hand, he comes back as DC and he's experienced. And the amount you pay him offsets the buyout, so you have more cash then to hire an OC/other position coaches. It is certainly intriguing.

Great to see all the visits being set up, but I'm cautiously optimistic for now! I think someone's skill as a recruiter just matters less today in the NIL world. Not saying it doesn't matter, just that it matters less. We thought Pry would elevate us too because of how he was recruiting at PSU and it seems like the only 4-stars we ever landed with him were busts lol. I think the real "recruiter skill" magic that comes into play is elevating our floor by getting higher-graded 3 star guys than we were getting before, which Pry did better at than Fuente.

Agreed here, Pry was doing a lot of similar things. Franklin's focus on the Corps has Pry's fingerprints all over it. That was definitely a point of emphasis in their conversations about VT.

I'm not gonna say that I don't have my reservations, but Franklin is a high floor, question mark ceiling hire. He has the history to show he can walk the walk and in the ACC we have the conference where being on top is not nearly as difficult as the SEC or B1G.
Mr. Franklin, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, push out anyone who obstructs you and turn this football program back into the ACC Giant it was when we first joined.
let me know if you know anyone in the Charlotte area that you'd trust. When we moved from Roanoke to this area it felt like all service-related costs went through the roof

Licensed in VA, MD and DE (Just for Bethany beach so family trip becomes a write off lol). No fam in Raleigh though. Could maybe just sell the equipment and ship it to whoever and find people for install if need be
