Holy smokes. If Terry Smith leaves Penn State for Virginia Tech, you'll be able to smell the meltdown in State College from the otherside of the Earth. https://t.co/r5MhQr1Myzβ Sekrah (@sekrah) November 20, 2025
I couldn't post the original tweet directly so had to embed Sekrah's.
Terry Smith would be a big, big add for recruiting.
I almost want this just to watch the Arkansas fans reaction to us taking Franklin and Pit boss
I would love that, but he just negotiated his buyout down to remove the duty to mitigate clause. That man is going to enjoy beers on a lake for a while. If he's still working in any capacity it's probably as a hand shaker for Arkansas or something.
Yes, excuse the hyperbole but like Tom Brady, Bergerson looks like he's on the same page with his receivers. Coaching? Innate talent? Hours of practice with his receivers yielding results? Will it transfer to the college game with taller and faster players?
They could've gotten creative and went "L0uvre"
I'm concerned it's "too long", but if people complain I'll change it again.
They got hung up since it couldn't be any of their last 10 passwords and panicked.
Someone should also tell them not to set their passwords as "Louvre"
Used to be named Lee, renamed a few years ago when Claudius Lee was found out to have been a member of a student chapter of the Klan.
If we can consistently win enough games to get to the ACCCG and have the talent to compete for the win in that game, everything else is house money. Icing on the cake. Then when Franklin gets us into the next iteration of big dog college football we can reset expectations. 8 or 9 wins every year and a playoff appearance 1 out of every 3 years sounds about right to me.
Tell that to the Louvre
Top notch choice on the new pfp
He impresses me as:
1) a guy who figures out things quickly, and
2) a guy who takes his job seriously, and
3) a guy who commits.
These are good traits.
Ok hear me out. New offensive line coach Sam Pittman, former Arkansas head coach who had previously been an OL coach for almost 30 years and is regarded as a top recruiter of offensive line talent. And he's available. And his buyout apparently doesn't have an offset clause
Long and short is we're improving on liquid assets, we have sufficient debt capacity to take on more debt if needed, to the tune of a couple hundred million, and we're staying below the Virginia law-mandated 7% debt ratio and the BOV-mandated 6% ratio (we're at 4.92%). FY25 fiscal performance is consistent with an AA+ credit rating (we are required to maintain AA- or better).
See p. 723-749 of the following BOV materials: https://bov.vt.edu/assets/Materials-November%2017-18,%202025-46.pdf
Where in the wide world of sports is Hoge?
oops, we actually do need on-campus housing after all.
You're telling me that Blacksburg isnt equipped with enough empty apartments for Tech to become a commuter school? How could this happen

I will say this.... Franklin is really honing in on the Corps unlike any other coach I've seen at VT since I was a student on at least basketball and football (Beamer, Stokes, Greenberg, Johnson, Buzz, Fuente, Young, Pry).
He might not fully be a Hokie, yet, but he damn sure is trying to learn real damn quick. And I'll say this, on its surface it is coming across much different than Buzz when he was first hired.
The @VTCorpsofCadets gave Head Coach Franklin a proper Hokie Welcome π«‘ pic.twitter.com/f6Dyekgoixβ Virginia Tech Football (@HokiesFB) November 20, 2025
Oh, I hadn't heard the latter part. Can't help but think, though, that having Franklin here would help him lean towards staying.
Can't put a value on "priceless."

I'm pretty sure Pry did get with the corps early including some pre daylight photos/videos with them. Franklin I think has shouted them out a touch more, but I do think Pry was doing the same/similar things at the start.
