I'd much rather have Rahne's OC at ODU than him. Kevin Decker's offense averaged 600+ yards at Fordham, now he's been killing it at an underfunded ODU. So much so they carved us up this year, despite the talent deficit

I think a large part of the frustration for PSU fans was that nearly every loss to Ohio State/Michigan was the same- a low scoring rockfight where the offense couldn't string 3 good plays in a row together. At least the loss to Oregon in the B1G title game was a different flavor of big game loss. It gets harder and harder to think "this time will be different" when every story is the same.
There's no Ohio State in the ACC. Put your hand down Miami, we've got eyes and watched you against Louisville.

My son went to Bryant in 2004, the first year they went from "College" to "University" level. They were terrible at sports, and during his 1st year at Parent Weekend I went to their football game and I saw Bryant's kicker line up for a 30 yard FG and come up...5 yards short. Oof.
Since then, they've made a major investment in sports, are now D1, and their baseball team is actually very good.
But what even is eligibility anymore in the eyes of the NCAA?

The implications of these people with these titles getting into the VT Athletic Dept starts the domino effect. By getting the announcement out front, it defeats the old boy network's ability to fight it.

Disagree. He was great for VT in his era, but that was almost 20 years ago.
I do not think he has the experience recruiting at the level and intensity that James Franklin is going to expect. And if he wasn't a name that Hokie fans were familiar with, he wouldn't be on your radar.
What I ultimately mean is that we have never seen the level of recruiting that is coming to Blacksburg, and we have got to stop trying to tie in names we know just because they are associated with VT.
The 2023-24 season was the first to allow it.
