Some people take 8 years to get a bachelor's degree across three colleges. Don't judge
Let's be honest, 7 years is ridiculous. He's got his doctorate in college football...
It also may simply come down to paycheck. Some of the P2 coordinators now make more than G5 head coaches.
Saw something that explains alot on why UConn keeps winning. Their QB this season has 25 TDs to ZERO interceptions. He has gone 344 attempts without a pick and thrown for 2,840 yards in ten games. He is another in the long line of 7th year players that would have triggered a DCWilson explosion. Been in college since 2019.
Not G5, but Chip Kelly. UCLA-> Ohio St.
Its pretty standard practice to have a practice team. Many times they are Graduate Assistants for either men or women's team. There are also usually just regular students that respond to a tryout and get asked to help out. The GAs actually have teams that play opponent GA teams as well. Its surprisingly organized and they even have a Postseason of their own. Louisville won the Nationsl Championship last year.
Hokies Managers Twitter Handle is @VTMBBManagers
They beat the St Joes managers 85-64 on Tuesday.

woof, that's one way to start to set expectations to the fans when they know something isn't going to happen.
Franklin to Arkansas confirmed.
Per the Arkansas version of Bill Roth, James Franklin to Arkansas is not happening.
Voice of Razorbacks shuts down talk of James Franklin replacing Pittman
Chuck Barrett, voice of the Arkansas Razorbacks for football and basketball, spends a good enough portion of his life in the athletics offices at the University of Arkansas to have a pretty good idea of at least a few definitive situations. Because of this, he carries more credibility than most when he takes to the airwaves and makes an emphatic statement.
"Let's just cut to the chase," Barrett said immediately as the recorded show introduction stopped playing. "I mean, we'll get into lots of things this morning, but let's just cut to the chase on this that James Franklin is not going to be the head coach of the Razorbacks. I believe that, all along, he was never a candidate. It's always been wishful thinking. The stories about a bidding war between Arkansas and Virginia Tech were nothing more than AI generated stories or written by human beings who were poorly informed, and it's just not going to happen. No, it was never, it was never going to happen. So let's just put that one aside."
"Now, some schools have the luxury of saying, 'Alright, this is our guy.' And you know that when you offer he's going to say, yes. We're not in that situation when it comes to the bigger names, the names people know, the guys everybody wants. We're not in that spot. So, you know, Franklin was, he was a pipe dream. I mean he was a pipe dream."
They mentioned him shortly before halftime, but just in passing. I went to bed at halftime though
Franklin was on the sidelines at ODU game in Norfolk last night....I don't know if TV noticed him or not.
He didn't rip his puffy coat off to reveal a Virginia Tech shirt?
Lame

This is when being a hokie the past 20 years I have the heebie jeebies. If it's gonna happen it "should" be today to set up a college gameday segment etc. If it isn't today, we prob beat FSU and they end up finding the $50M+ for the buyout and this drags another 3-4 weeks and we end up glad we've kept talking to other coaches. I'm just a broken fan lol. Good things don't happen to us. Hope I'm dead wrong.
well I can't not leg this
James Franklin looks pretty good with the beard here

Pete is getting hit with dozens of @s every day from Hokie fans begging him for a Franklin update, and he has not once engaged in it, yet.
I bet he's just ignoring it all
I would think that if this wasn't true, Pete Thamel would probably tweet that in response. The dude @ed him.
Today's the day, folks! I was wrong the last seven times I called this, but I just know I'm right today.

Liz Kitley did a great job calling the game, honestly much better than whoever was calling the last game on TV.

AI is getting too good
