Shane would be a gigantic gamble.

There's no middle ground. He either pulls us back to relevancy and possibly a P2 invite/tip tier ACC payout or VT becomes permanently irrelevant.

All else equal, I think VT would better weather taking on someone who isn't ingrained at VT and gets us back to 8-4/9-3 then takes a job a rung up the ladder.

Shane would be here for better or worse and I think it's more likely to be worse/same as last dozen years.

South Carolina's slide may have Shane Beamer reaching for escape hatch

Coleman saying he is hearing the same of a lot of what's in the article.

"Multiple sources told CBS Sports this week that Beamer to Virginia Tech is more than speculation -- it has legitimacy -- and would strengthen if South Carolina's downturn continued this season. Multiple members of Virginia Tech's search committee "are pushing for Beamer," one source said."

His buyout is $5M if he leaves on his own, also notes that he was hired by the previous AD. Doesn't think there's necessarily any friction between the two, but Shane was the previous AD's guy

Good point. I tend to agree with you in that I don't see Franklin as a reread. I see PSU as being delusional.

And to be clear I have stated my NO vote on Franklin.

No 'Game Day thread' on TKP for bye week? It's a week we can't lose (though if it were, I'm certain WE would be the ones to do it first....)

Seeing Pavia strike the pose and I got a bit irritated that he might actually be in the Heisman discussion after getting what feels like an eighth year of eligibility

True, but pretty much all the dominating in the trenches occurred after Beck and Kill arrived.

Watching Vandy games, Kill is the guy on the sidelines wearing the headset, working the referees, ect.

In the theoretical scenario where you could have either (1) Clark Lea alone or (2) Kill + Beck without Lea...who do you think would be more likely to be successful. Who would you choose? I know my choice.

He built a team that dominates in the trenches. Kill/Beck came up with a great scheme and 'found' a great qb, but running a team is so much more than that.

We'll see what happens when pavia leaves

How well has that nearly ubiquitous Modelo Recruiter commercial with the lady in the "Carolina National Champs 2025" aged??

I get a little chuckle every time I see that.
