If we do end up hiring Shane, man there's going to be some serious mental gymnastics to hype the fan base up on a coach who conceivably could only win one more game this year. I know the schedule is absolutely brutal, but they look pretty listless in these losses, especially today. The offense is brutal to watch. I don't think he would have any other serious P4 interest if he's let go from South Carolina at this point, other than VT.
Shane is going to be a very rough sell given all the hype and the budget IMO. I hope we have our sights set higher.

Another note: French I think has brought this up before but UVA's LB Robinson is a stout run defender...exactly the kind of player you would expect your former LB Coach turned H.C. to have found...rather than continuing to trot out guys who can't fill gaps and then signing a UNC retread who couldn't tackle.

To many people at Clemson remember the Bowden years, PSU has really known only 2 coaches
He'll have a couple mediocre years runway. Dabo won a couple national championships which helps his relationship with the fanbase. PSU was always bigger than Franklin, but Dabo is the Clemson program.

He was in JUCO for 2 years...so his "JUCO doesn't really count" argument could (and almost certainly will) be made again this offseason.

Yeah, I did that.
Dealership advertised a car for $9,999. I walked in with a check for $10,000. They latched on but thought I did not know they would advertise 2 cars and then make them unavailable and upsell.
I told each salesman that I wanted the model car they advertised, Do not care about color and the only options I needed was a radio and a heater. First one to find the car gets the check. They argued it couldn't be done.
I explained they could order the car and I'd wait but play up front. They still insisted it could not be done.
One guy asked questions and took me up on it. 2 days later I payed $10,230 and got the car but with more options..
They won't be able to sell me on it. Will just skip football and wait for basketball. Will give me back alot of Fall weekends.
