Stanford is terrible so it's more just an indictment of FSU. Losses to other P4 teams are by 24, 28, and 24 but they did beat BC.

Castellanos outside of the Bama game has looked every bit the terrible QB he was at BC

That last play was perfect example. Had two receivers wide open early but he double pumped instead of throwing it.

UCLA wins again with the FG with 30 seconds left. Never hurts to see the Terps lost again to boot.

Bruins now 3-4. Unfortunately they face 4 ranked teams in final five games so unlikely the interim coach gets them to a bowl. Kind of Murderers Row. Indiana, Ohio State, Nebraska and USC left.

This would almost be akin to VT football's version of the Buzz Williams hire. Just a possibility that no one would have seen coming, but a slam dunk, home run, program building/resurrecting level hire with a ton of splash. The Pry thing is admittedly a somewhat awkward layer on all of this, but I mean let's face it, it wasn't VT's fault that Pry failed as horribly as he did. He just wasn't cut out to be a HC. Was a very good DC at PSU under Franklin and never made the jump for a reason, and we saw it all play out. (Honestly think we got somewhat of a sample of what it would have been like with Bud as HC, to be honest).

But that aside, I don't think Pry would necessarily have an enormous grudge with VT, and as unimaginable as the thought of Franklin at VT would have been even a few weeks ago, it seems like this really is setting up nicely to be a great fit for what both sides need right now. Are we interested? Is he interested? I guess we will find out.

Stanford is doing their best to keep FSU in this one. I don't know what happened after the first 3 games for FSU, but it has really fallen apart for them.

Honestly not sure we can big dog JMU here ...why would he come down to Blacksburg? He is setup for success and has a committed Athletic Department behind him there. He couldn't feel that good about that here.

Man the video clip they just showed on thr FSU/Stanford broadcast of the "tailgating action" at Stanford earlier today. Lmao. It was like three dudes standing under a tent eating some steak in a mostly empty parking lot. 😂

It's a valid concern. I think VT is in a position where we have to take a risk on a young up and comer, though. It's going to be a very competitive market with some big time openings. I don't belive VT has what it takes to "big dog" anyone. We're not going to be able to get the splash hire of the season and we're going to have to take a risk on a guy with high upside. A coach like Chesney where maybe other programs have the same reservations you have may be available to VT. All coaches come with risks. I'd rather risk it with a young up and comer than pay out the wazoo for a "known" quantity who may not work out here

None of that would have been necessary if the penalty wasnt picked up. They would have been able to just run right up the middle until clock was at 3 seconds to kick FG.
