He is most likely splitting time with Schutt and Johnson. Minutes per game will be about the same as UNLV. Good movement off ball and turnover ratio is a bit misleading as a shooting guard, he wasn't called upon as much to be an assist guy in the UNLV offense. Comparison on him and Rechsteiner last season is 1.5 Turnover per game versus 2.2 for Rechsteiner. Consistent free throw shooter at 73-75% over two seasons. Definitely a shooter, averaged 9.8 shots per game last season.
Defense I am curious to see what we get. At Oral Roberts he struggled but at UNLV he became a positive impact defensively. He is a strong rebounder, especially on defensive end. Just seems to know where to be to get balls off the rim.
I thought JUCO ruling had already been resolved with Pavia case which would give potential for three years remaining if court cases on 5th year come through.
Bottom line, he is an experienced ball player that moves well on the floor which are two things this team desperately needs.
He has one year of eligibility remaining as of now, pending the court case right now regarding the impact of JUCO years on NCAA eligibility.
This could should be a bonus.
Odom's track record with international players isn't the only factor working in Virginia's favor, though. This season, Johann Grünloh has been teammates with former Virginia forward Jayden Gardner, who joined SC Rasta Vechta in 2024. Gardner and Grünloh have been the team's starting front court tandem in every game this season.

Interesting that college basketball is now recruiting from the pros.
People are making apocalypse jokes like there is no tomorrow.
Maybe we should hire Liberty's fucking coach and recruiting guy
Been the ACC move this year.
Liberty is 6-3 against ACC. They swept UVA for two, beat NC State, beat Duke, lost to Clemson twice, split with Wake Forest, and beat the Hokies.
Still play them once more this season at Liberty on May 7th.
I know baseball is random and based on pitching, etc. But it is so Virginia Tech to get dusted by fucking liberty at home late in the year. Such a VT move.
Adding 40 new kids to the roster means the ones you had aren't good. Have to bring in more top end talent.
This season started off so promising....
Dudes can sit around just naming old Hokie running backs and have the best time.
This one and the Myles Jack blow up are the 2 I remember most fondly.
I think back to Pry's statements that he'll build through HS recruiting and fill holes via the portal. Hokies had 2 transfer out that they would have like to have retained and have hit portal for 23...so far. That's A LOT of holes. They've also hit the portal for 3 primary coaches and a few other assistants.
I don't know if any of this is great, but yeah, how bad can it be?

Shit. I thought we were getting more beef on the OLine.
This appears to mean regression is coming, but when you turn over half the roster from an average team, how bad can it be?
The stint of ESPN/NFL/the media powers that be completely overrating tobacco road QBs made our wins look a lot better than they probably were.
31-14 over #22 Duke with Daniel Jones in 2018 was fun
He posted a 0.8 assist to turnover ratio last year, was hoping for an improvement in this regard over the past few years teams.
Let's go!
Same. I watched the first 3, and couldn't remember much from before.
Going to have to find a season 1 recap, watch it, then watch the first 3 episodes of season 2 again
And one must attend the Foxfield races, where butlers still serve on silver platters for the landed gentry.
Oh, one must not forget the rotunda filled with ascots and argyle sweater vests in various pastels.
Hokie football used to be fun!! Let's just get back to that - seems like a low bar.

If their overall record was better I might see it but they are basically same overall record as Hokies, just get up for ACC games but have lost to lesser conference teams.
