- Hopefully Drone will be uninjured and can play well with a better Oline
- I don't think we replace Tuten, we just hope to have decent backs
- We took a hit at WR losing Lane and Gosnell, Jennings and Felton are eh. I don't think Greene and Sheldon replace Lane/Gosnell, but they were good pickups. Adams now has time to shine and hopefully he will but he is still young so we need to give this group some time
- TE should be better because they both are older and have more experience
- Oline is a huge question mark other than Rimac. The two other WVU xfers are both RS FR which is good and bad. But it will be hard to not be better than last year and Moore has 3 guys that have been taught. by him for a. year so I expect to see improvement which will help Drones and the RBs a lot.
Overall it's really tough to say this group is better than last years. I think they can be based on improved Oline play, but our WRs need to grow up fast.
What future assets are you speaking of? Besides the Lakers girls 🫶🏼
There's just no way this is a rental. Pelinka has had his problems, but he just CANT be that stupid. You don't trade for Luka for half a season.
Yea from a basketball perspective this is just fascinating.
I know AD wants to play the 4...but that's just not really a good idea lol. Massive wholes for the Mavs at the 2/3 spots. So much clutter in the front court on the roster.
I haven't read enough about it, but I wonder if they just want to get out of the Luka business.
As a Lebron guy, I'm kind of split. The Luka/Lebron 2 man game could be amazing...or it could never happen. I think it also may signal the middle of the end for Bron. Lakers are hedging their bets.

Oh I have an idea why the league might have encouraged Dallas to make a terrible business decision
"going over the top and failing to close the face"...keeping food on the table for teaching pros
was able to get out a couple times last week. driver is starting to get in a groove; happy with fairway woods and putting; but irons are terrible and I don't have a clue. Lies are so skinny right now that there is really no room for error...and I have a lot of error
Out of everyone we lost this season this will be the hardest gap to refill. Peebles was a problem for every offense we faced.
I'm out of the loop but why would he lose endorsements? I would think being in a bigger market like LA would up his endorsement deals at the least. Were those deals tied to him being in Dallas?
This is always a NIMBY vs progress discussion. People living around an airport never want more flights; airports always want more.
A helicopter flying in front of an active runway is always going to pose a risk, regardless of how many flights per day.
Going to cost Doncic a fortune too. Would have been eligible for Supermax this summer of 5 years/$345M. That doesn't convey in trade.
Also goes from no income tax state to highest income tax state. Biggest impact will be on endorsement deals. Could be looking at losing close to $200M in taxes between contract and endorsements. I think he can opt out this summer so may only be a rental for Lakers.

Felton had a TD catch in the game.

I'm surprised Doncic is only 25, but yea I feel like this is like one of the most lopsided trades in sports history

What in the hell were the Mavericks thinking? Doncic for Davis?!? Young superstar (25) for aging superstar (31)?
Just doesn't make sense since PJ Washington will be replaced by Davis in starting 5 but now a huge hole at the 2-spot. Grimes/Thompson ain't it.
Closer than it needed to be, but at the end of the day, it's a win over LOLUVA
Until the next time he wins the ACC Tournament.
We actually have a bunch of winnable games down the stretch. For all the complaints about game time, CMY is doing the work to make them a team.
We could go 6-3 I dont think we will but that's possible with UVA, Miami, Cuse, and BC being bad, then decent chances against ND and UNC.
Winning the ACC tournament has to be the answer.
FAM! Is this CMY's best coaching job of his VT tenure?

It's an absolutely stunning move for the Mavericks, but pretty par for the course for how the Lakers constantly stay relevant (i.e., fleecing other teams for their superstars).
It probably won't move the needle much this season, as both teams are likely also-rans in the West. AD has been incredibly productive (and surprisingly healthy) this season, but you have to wonder when he'll revert back to his track record of missing 30-50% of each season.
Long-term it's obviously great for the Lakers. LeBron should become unproductive due to age literally any second now, so having a top-5 player to build around without having to go the Boston/OKC/Houston route of sucking for 3 straight years to build your roster is like hitting the lottery.
