If this was a normal game, I wouldn't be as happy that we relied so much on throwing up so many jumpers. However, this was not a normal game. I couldn't care less if we heaved 47 full court shots to win this game. This was at Wahoo-town, so eff them. I hope their souls are shattered from the near comeback and the one point loss. Hokie FAM time!!
PS: I was really worried about watching this one because I felt like I nearly ruined that amazing lead we had on F$U when I started watching in the 2nd half. Glad to see I didn't ruin this win.

This team is playing much better than I expected. If they can keep the current players eligible to return next season (particularly Lawal) they could be decent next year.

It's now Feb 1 and we are tied for 9th in the ACC.
I'd say that's a positive surprise all things considered.
Looking at the conference slate ahead of us, I can see us potentially winning 4 more games. That would put us at 9-11 in conference, 14-17 overall. I would expect nothing else. Creampuff school and a tough guy sport. UVa should just drop wrestling and football and put the NIL $ into baseball.
Impressed with the improvement from our team since the early part of the season. Offense looked good for large stretches of this game. Every single player looks to be getting better as the season progresses. 5-6 in a bad ACC still might be CMYs best coaching yet at VT.
Sitting here watching the golf at Pebble now and wanted to provide a couple updates.
Trip to French Lick is booked and I am stoked. Going in late August so it will be a bit of a sweat fest, but that Pete Dye course is as close to a bucket list item as I have (I don't really think in terms of bucket list). 8 guys going and we'll be playing the Dye Course and Ross Course at French Lick and Sultans Run. There will be a fourth course thrown in on the way home but that's TBD. Might head to Indy a day early with buddy whose brother is flying in from Charlotte and hit a course or two around there.
Took a lesson to try to sort out what's sapping driver distance. Was going over the top and failing to close the face so worked on correcting path. Interesting thing is that swing change has me hitting my irons and hybrids really solid now but the driver is still not there. Going to schedule the next lesson soon.

For the folks unfamiliar with aviation charts, if you look at the helicopter routes marked in blue, you will see the number 200 with a line above the number in multiple locations along route 4 where the H-60 was supposed to be flying. This indicates that the helicopter must fly no higher than 200 feet above the ground while on this route. All military helicopters are equipped with radar altimeters that constantly measure the distance from the bottom of the bird to the ground and this system is highly accurate. If the H-60 had been on Route 4 and below 200 feet above ground level, we would not be having this conversation.
