Hmm, it would make sense. Pry has a history of "promoting" players from Star to Will to Mike (or at least he said something to that effect in an interview last offseason). And Woodson is the best LB-product Pry has recruited and trained. And having a solid player at Mike for 2 years would be nice.
Need someone to take over will. Maybe G. Williams if he can get healthy. Or maybe the DE/LB from the portal. idk, seems the LB room is probably still really messy come spring and fall. I hope not, but we'll see. They really need to put the players in spot in the spring and just train them there. All this cross-training has bad results thus far.

Now we've had six turnovers but wake has not scored any off our turnovers. Amazing. if this changes we'll get blown out!
Hard to do when you've already had 4 turnovers in the first six minutes and 9 possessions.
Yea, the NCAA didn't allow this to happen. They were overtaken by a coup without any martial law or other regime taking over.
It is really on Congress or the will of the institutions and players. Congress could give NCAA authority within constitutional boundaries. Or a collective bargaining agreement could be made between the institutions and players.
Eventually, I imagine Congress and President will do something. However, NCAA does not seem like a priority at the moment with the focus on Greenland. But it would be cool to see Greenland Univ. in the CFB playoffs!!! So, maybe they can do both at the same time.

A little semantic here, but lawyers have always determined how anything is governed. I'm sure NCAA rules are written by lawyers, and any prior court wins by NCAA were based on lawyer arguments and analysis, adjudicated by lawyers. I guess the OP point is that lawyers for the players are now determining how the NCAA is governed, using the U.S. corporate laws of around free enterprise to knife their way through the NCAA. Which is an issue that does need resolve.

I plan to record the game in order to skip commercials and halftime, head down to the local Chinese restaurant for some shrimp with garlic sauce to go, then settle in for whatever today's Hokies can muster. Hope I don't need a bottle of Pepto from either.
The 247 and TSL staff have continually been saying the coaches are projecting Woodson at Mike next year. I think it's a little weird too since he had been flourishing at Will. But could signal that they still just don't trust Keller, which I can understand.
What are the chances that Foster comes into Pry's office and says, "Fuck it, I'll be your DC. I'm better than anyone on your list of replacements."
Conspiracy theory (that I dont really believe but would be fun to get out there): Pry is purposely mucking up the DC hire so Foster comes back to be the hero.

By which accounts? And if Woodson moves to mike, who plays will/backer?
At the end of the year, it seemed that VT was continuing with JK at Mike and Woodson at Will.
This all may change with a new DC and LB coach, especially if scheme changes (although unlikely to change scheme).
Also Seldon will be up for that I'm sure
Based on what Banks was making and is likely now getting at UT with his new contract, I would guess we put north of $1.5MM on the table for this new hire if we made a run at him.

Complements the two bruisers we brought in. Definitely has good burst, could see him be another option at KR/PR outside of Tucker.
I think Pry and Whit both realize their jobs are on the line at this point.
If we're upping the DC salary, that's would put it at at least a million, possibly more, which would have us in the top 30.
Welp. I think this is officially a cluster fuck. I think it's highly unlikely we're going to hire the ace that is required to save Pry's job. My prediction is we hire someone nobody was thinking of and we'll be fed some line to try and make it seem like a 4d chess move and then we'll lose 6 games next year and fire Pry (and Whit, if we're lucky)
