Correct. And I can say the same about you lying that you wouldn't take it.
Since there are apparently unlimited boosters out there with millions of dollars to put into these collectives, like coaches, the school getting the player will simply pay his buyout. And nothing material changes.
Nah, 1. nobody gives 20 year olds that money anywhere in the world unless they are twisted college sports boosters. 2. If I did take 600K for nothing, and couldn't handle the criticism that's on me. Kidd can take the bag, I can call it horse shit.

That's where I was at. It's easier to teach tackling than being in the right place. I think we took BIG strides in being in the right place, now get em some S&C and tackling and we're in a much better spot.
#3 is most likely IMO. I can see a world where players have buyouts (just like coaches), which is basically the same as a transfer fee.
Give it a rest, dude. If you were 20 and someone offered you $600k, you'd take it and you know it.

"We had mostly underclassmen" yeah this isn't a thing anymore. You are going to have underclassmen that need to play when half your team transfers every year. Also in this new world these underclassmen are going to be playing against 5, 6 7 year seniors now so get used to it.

I finally took the time to look up where the officiating crew was from: SEC. Part of me would love to see Pitt play a game with that officiating crew just to watch Narduzzi's head explode. He whines about PI nonstop when the officials are calling it.
I thought the same thing while watching the game. On both run and pass plays, our defenders were often in the right place, just didn't make the play.
It was frustrating then, but in hindsight, with some conditioning, coaching, and experience, this defense might have a decent floor to work from.
We had mostly underclassmen trying to tackle a 230+ lb running back with good blocking ... we will see what the offseason brings in terms of S&C, but I will give a player more than the first season out of high school to bulk up to final playing weight

๐ป Wait until he finds out what its like for a poster on an SEC board when your comment isn't good!
Yeah, yeah, next you'll be telling us that you're hitting the portal for a bigger bag at another board....and all those wasted legs go for naught!
In all seriousness isn't it only tampering for the staff to reach out directly to a player not in the portal? I can only think of like 15,000 wide open loop holes if that's the case.

๐ป At the current pace, I'll surpass 200k in only...187 years
Should I have bolded that?
whatever they did, it worked. Pop had zero time in the pocket and I dont know how much that would have changed with a better OL. In real-time, Schlee fared much better, but outside of the one big play he didn't fare much better. After watching some of the highlights it was just clear that we were way undersized and inexperienced.

The soon-to-be-owner program would never be able to set a buyout worth a damn. That program, with a decent buyout, would just get outbid by a wealthier, or more desperate, program who will risk the lower buyout.
edit: clarifying that I mean to add to DC's comment, not disagree
