He came out of retirement 2 years ago to help bring Boise back. He doesn't have anything to prove, he's just airing out the bullshit that is rampant right now.
I think it's a lazy excuse. He'll take a year of and be OC at a better school, and avoid any backlash from fans.

Yeah can't blame the guy for doing that, I'm sure it's insanely frustrating. Luckily for him NIL didn't come around until the end of his career...I feel bad for any coaches who have another 20-30 years of coaching in this NIL crap (although hopefully it gets sorted out before too long).
Of the ACC's 11 losses, 8 of those games the ACC teams had 2nd or 3rd string QB in for at least a half and were missing at least 6 starters.
Seven games had 2nd or 3rd QB in the whole game.
Six of the losses the ACC was missing at least 10 starters between opt out/portal.

Bowl games should become straight up exhibition games that don't go on the win loss record.
I don't think fans will pay much for that. But they absolutely are 100% meaningless when half of one or both teams aren't even playing.
There is a difference between ragging on the team and making a statement about what's going on. It's a game thread. It was tame compared to any of our football game threads. The shooting by this team was awful for three quarters. Are we supposed to piss sunshine when there isn't much positive going on? There wasn't much singling out of anyone in particular. It wasn't anyone claiming the sky was falling. Maybe it seems more condensed because there aren't 500 comments like football game threads. There were what...16 comments in the game thread and most were just reiterating current game statistics?
There are almost as many FAM comments as the entire game thread especially as there are two FAM threads with comments.

Just curious if watering down the OOC schedule to fit into the SEC gave those teams a boost?
If that really is a rule, then that is absurd. What about all the colleges that share sports venues with professional teams (e.g. Miami with the Dolphins @ Hard Rock)? What would be so special about hockey that the same couldn't be allowed? I would think VT could consider their home rink at LancerLot? I say that without knowing what the seating capacity is like there.
I'm 45, grew up in the 80's with everything 80's. Sorry to say I had never heard of him prior to the tv show nor heard that "super popular" song 'Parents Just Don't Understand '. It wasn't because I was sheltered either.
Unfortunately, its becoming clear that Pry completely bungled the composition of his Staff.
Beyond the obvious mistake of hiring 2 Rookie Coordinators, the Staff as a whole doesn't seem cohesive.
Year one, you had Bowen, Glenn and Rudolph clearly not on the same page (Rudolph probably with one foot already out the door by mid-season) and everyone but Bowen gone after. Defensively, I agree that there appears to be discord, particularly between the LB and Secondary...combined you have 4 coaches for that group and have to wonder if there are too many cooks.
I actually was surprised they didn't give him more grief. He got a mild boo on the starter intro and every time he fouled people would clap loudly, but otherwise they left him alone. I'm sure the students would have had less mercy though lol.
The point I have been making to anyone who will listen is that the acc had their best players sitting out bc they are transferring out to get the $$ while sec/b10 schools had their worst players opting out to transfer "down"... The NFL opt outs are more uniformly distributed but the acc is most afflicted with underclassmen contributors leaving.
