Hopefully he gets to see the field there. I will be interested to see if they picked him up as an OL or DL.

"You're allowed to give someone money or a car for whatever reason"... no you are not. You can gift a car to a family member, yes but all states have rules around title transfers in terms of taxes, etc. If I "give" you a car worth a certain value, you must pay taxes on it. etc. Also there are laws against certain amounts of gifted money as well. Tax law.

That's the student athletes not paying taxes on the money/benefits they received. What the bag men for the schools did wasn't illegal. You're allowed to give someone money or a car for whatever reason. It was just against NCAA rules.

My favorite maroon shirt I wore from '94 until now to every game I went to finally got too shabby to continue to serve me. Well, though, it did. '95 and '99 Sugar Bowls, UVA games home and away, etc. It was sad and saggy, so away it went just the other day. It was a really nice shirt and I'll miss it bowl day.
Edit: One thing that will never, ever be retired or disposed of is my "WUCK THE FAHOOS" button I bought from a dude with a bucket full on the way to a game back in the '80s. I mean, some things never go outta style.

Without question the greatest collection of college football talent I have ever seen

if I recall correctly, 2013 FSU had all starting 22 get drafted. Which is wild.

likely the best college football team of all time.

This is under debate. 2019 LSU is the most potent offense I've ever seen (yes, I know 2020 Alabama broke all of their records, but you can't tell me that Bama QB was nearly as good at Burrow)

Played all 3 reunion courses and crooked cat in Orlando this weekend. Crooked cat was where LIV orlando was this year. Pretty good course- in good shape, and had some interesting holes. I'd rate it very good. I's play it again. BTW the driving range there is "the largest in the US"- basically a huge field where all 4 corners can be hitting areas depending on how they open it/set it up. Just huge. As for reunion - meh... the Niklaus course was the best one- it used to be private and now is part of the resort. It's basically myrtle beach golf in Orlando. Think legends or barefoot- same/same. 5:30 hour rounds, staff with their hands out constantly, etc. Won't do it again. Orlando traffic also sucks!!

Just got my 2024 GHIN year in review summary. Played 1125 holes that I posted (plus a number of other club events that couldn't be posted.) I didn't play as well this year as 2023 and my handicap went up by 1.9 strokes. Got to play some great courses in Indiana - both Purdue courses, the Pfau Course at IU along with some local courses.

Highlights of the year we're winning the second half of our men's league (finishing second in the first half) after both my partner and I realized that neither of us really wanted to play and coming in second in the league shootout.

Off-season sim league has begun but it's not quite scratching the itch it did last winter. I think it's because my game fell off at the end of the season this year and last year I ended playing really well. I'll save next years goals for the 2025 thread which will be coming soon.

Yes, I know Guitarman has an eye witness account that they all understand the importance of football. My fear is that they're all pulling in different directions though. There's just been too much smoke for me to not believe that is the case.

I think it was you that I was thinking of lol.
