I remember reading about VT's involvement in this a few years ago, and delivering fast food on campus.

Sure, but they're related. The coach has to sell the donors. Seems like Belichick has some work to do, because he has to sell them on his own salary, PLUS the additional expenses his plan will cost, PLUS the NIL it will undoubtedly cost, and at the end of the day, it's still UNC.
Everybody has a bottom line, so this will be an interesting experiment.

I bought a condo in the Piedmont development off South Main/Grissom when I was in school. It was on the South Main bus route, had plenty of parking, and was mainly graduate students when I lived there. Quiet.

That looks right! They would've lost 21-9 to Pitt (only 3 FGs), 27-14 to FSU (pick 6 and fumble recovery TD), 24-12 to VT (that game was pain), and 14-10 to Nebraska (pick 6 and FG).
I only removed offensive TDs. FGs plus defensive and special teams TDs are counted.
That is wild. It was incredible seeing how many pick 6s, punt returns, and fumble recovery TDs that team had. I guess that's what happens when your entire defense is borderline NFL All-Pro talent.
I work as a PM at a civil engineering firm. Where there is a lot of training on how to do the job right.
I was asked to review a resume for fellow engineer. The 10 year history showed changing jobs about every 18 months on average. This led me to the following thoughts:
1. He is constantly chasing that next promotion and/or raise. Not likely to stay long term.
2. He couldn't get along well with others.
3. Doesn't know what he is doing and can only blow a smoke screen so long.
I said, I wouldn't hire him. Unfortunately the senior VP said we just hired him to be the new VP over my department. Unfortunately it was all three and we managed to get out of at least one of the disastrously bad contracts that he wrote.
Lived in the Village II my sophomore year starting in 2013. Liked it enough that I stayed there for junior and senior year. Had in unit laundry, a decent sized kitchen, and never had any issues with maintenance or staff. Not too close to anything but other apartments and 7/11 but an easy bus ride to campus as it's a straight shot down Tom's Creek.
Only thing is it looks like it's got a new name and, presumably, new management (Alight Blacksburg West) so I can't speak to that. But from a location standpoint I'd recommend - close enough to campus /bigger apt complexes but at the time didn't have a ton of parties itself so it was on the quieter side
Without question the greatest collection of college football talent I have ever seen personally, and likely the best college football team of all time. They were absolutely loaded.
He's a junior ME that doesn't like the party scene. He doesn't even want to bring his car if he's living off campus.
I would prefer to keep him away from the fox ridge area as that's where my friends and I was and it was party city back in the day. Lol.
I saw a stat on Instagram this week that if the 2001 Miami offense never scored, that team would still have gone 8-4. I did not verify that stat, but if true, absolutely insane.
That's awesome. Also remember watching a pickup game involving several linemen from the football team; an opponent drove the lane and tried to go up and over one of the linemen to the basket; the defender caught him in mid-air in his arms, placed him back on his feet on the floor, and said "I'll take the charge"!

My dad used to tell me this one growing up. Love a good joke that requires an education to understand (like the "funny t-shirts e.g. "If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the precipitate" or "TECHNICALLY alcohol IS a solution")
Back then it was basically a party townhome complex.
So it did not change from the 90's as that was the case when I was at Tech as well. You could always just ride the BT out to Pheasants run and find multiple parties.
I lived in Maple Ridge from 2011-2013. At the time it was fairly new and ended up being one of the cheapest way to get a reasonably nice unit with an included washer/drier. The 4 bed 2 bath ended up being comparably priced to foxridge while being much nicer. The downside at the time was that the bus ran less frequently out that far on north main so we all just drove to campus - allegedly the campus transportation situation has changed a lot so I wouldn't take my 10+ year old info to heart.
From 2013-2015 I lived with a friend in a rental house behind the kroger and that worked out nicely - but obviously if you are in a college apartment complex you get an added social factor that you may not get in a house that is mixed in with "real people". The nice part of the house was we had a real yard and you don't have share walls to hear your neighbors breakup music.
The business owner has more in the game than the employee. Most have to invest their personal savings to get a business off the ground, and are risking losing it, if the business folds. I have friends that owned businesses that ended up forgoing their salary in tough months to make payroll, because if they didn't the business wouldn't survive.
A good business owners cares for his business because, if he doesn't, his employees aren't going to have jobs. Most of them work much longer hours than their typical employees because they have to. And if the business does fail, a lot of business owners take that failure as a reflection of themselves. And a failure might make it difficult to start another business.
