I don't think Bowen is a Rockstar or anything but I think it's too risky to overhaul the entire staff. If I had to pick which coordinator to fire I'm firing Marve 100% of the time. You know what you've got with Bowen. Roll with that while the defense gets figured out. Reevaluate next year. Unlike Marve, Bowen has shown flashes and improvements
Can we get Nic Cardwell?
1) I am surprised by this. Pleasantly surprised.
2) I have never been so happy to be so wrong. I really was convinced changes weren't going to happen if they hadn't happened yet.
3) Pry has taken a baby step in the right direction. I think he has correctly identified the biggest shortcomings in our coaching staff and these are the right folks to let go. However...
4) the next part is the hardest. Pry has to nail the replacement hires. He's a couple weeks behind the ball (unless he delayed announcing the hires until having the replacements already lined up behind the scenes)
I imagine he's going to take over the defensive duties for the bowl game. We probably aren't going to hear any solid news on the replacement hires until after bowl season (because, hopefully, the targets are coaching in January). I feel cautiously optimistic about this move. Pry needs to do better with this round of hires tho. We'll see. I think he just bought himself another year or so. Will be interesting to see how his new hires do on the recruiting front. Wild ride

I hear all the talk about Belichick building a pipeline to the NFL. This is all well and good I guess, but I hear nothing about winning college football games. Yeah, he may get the top players in the region, but will they be able to play together to create winning football. Remember, in the NFL, most players have several years experience being paid and working in a professional system. All these top rated high school kids already think they should be getting the bag and be in the league. Working their egos into a cohesive group to win at the college level is a different animal. If they are not winning, somebody is not going to be happy (boosters, donors, admin, students, fans).
I will say this... If this Belichick things works at uncheat... then... Bruce Arians to VT!!!

Is there any chance he could let his system go and just hire the best available DC he can get and let him take control? Might be tough for the traditionally prideful type of person that takes up coaching and makes it to this level. But he already tried the hand picked "protege" thing. And we all know he doesn't need to be taking any more time from his game management training regiment he is hopefully implementing for himself.
That would be a big dick hire. He's literally the best guy on the board.
